iScored game room score tracker

This apparently isn't popular here, but I've got my theme dialed in. If you are by chance interested in it, go to the Community section while logged in and search by author, "Oldtymetoys" or sort by most recent date and you'll find the games I have made with the "Flyer art" theme.

Yours look awesome! I applied some of yours to the games we have in common. Wanna do all my games lmao

I've got a bunch of games done now. It's pretty fun designing them with this flyer theme. If anyone is looking for a specific game, post it here. Maybe I have it done already, or maybe I'll create it.

I've got this to the point where I'm satisfied: https://www.iScored.info?mode=public&user=Oldtymetoys

I do not have a touchscreen TV, so I use it on my old iPad 2 with Apple TV. I use the SavySoda Private Web Browser app to be able to completely hide the address bar, etc. but any browser that you can hide all the extra stuff would be fine (or if it doesn't bother you, don't worry about it.)

On the iPad 2, it works best if you set the Auto Lock to "Never" and have a bluetooth keyboard connected, so the on-screen keyboard doesn't keep popping up and getting in the way of the touch controls of the iScored browser.

IMO, this is probably the best solution to the high score board out there.

i will seriously be looking into this. thanks for your work and expect a few questions to be coming your way.

Nice, I'll check out your URL on my iPad 1 that is completely useless. If it works it may be nice to use.

Also, your pac-man score is awful. :D

We had 19 family members (plus 3 girlfriends) over yesterday for a "May birthdays" celebration and after the cake was cut, my boys started a movement for me to "turn the arcade on." I always plan for the games to come on when people are over, but this time I made sure to have the iScored Scoreboard running on the TV and 80's music playing on the speakers. My nephew's girlfriend was absolutely blown away by the entire scene. It's always cool to see that from people seeing it all for the first time.

Anyway, I briefly explained the high score table and that all they had to do was play a game and give me their initials and score. So my younger son stood there and looked at the screen waiting for the DK3 scores to scroll by. Once they did, he announced that he was gonna beat his brother's DK3 score and promptly went to play. I think he helped the new folks get comfortable with the games, scores, etc. After I took a few scores, input them on the iPad and they saw their score on the screen, people were hooked. As more people came down to play, my nieces and nephews couldn't wait to tell each of them their own score on a certain game and show it to them on the screen. This created a friendly competition on a number of games... Carnival being the one that people played the most. After everyone got the hang of it, my older son wanted to be the score keeper. So I handed the iPad over to him and stood back to see the organized chaotic fun. People had a blast in my small arcade space and the iScored scoreboard contributed to their fun.

Don't hesitate here, pay the $20, and have a blast with it.

I ran a tournament for my son's birthday - bunch of 11 year olds last October. It ran pretty smooth. Same experience - they kept running to the TV in the arcade to see their scores update as I input them on my iPad. If there was an overall scoring option, that would be sweet as I had to manually calculate the winners at the end and give out prizes.

Cool. I know he works on updates to the scoreboard and that he promised "tournament support was coming soon." A few weeks ago he had done an update to add score tracking for win-loss records, fastest times, etc. Perfect for head-to-head and fighting games. As soon as I create skins for a few of my boys' favorite Neo Geo fighters, I'll have to add those in and keep track of our wins/losses. Also, RBI Baseball will be fun too with a season win/loss record.

I hate it that you're posting in my thread now.
But I love you.

Seriously, I never even knew this was a thing. It's a really cool piece of tech. You could have one of these on a Smart TV or even a RaspPi running with one on a regular LCD TV. I've got a 42" TV in the spare bedroom now that's a smart TV that no one uses. Really cool, just really cool.
