I know mine is certainly not, my wife comments on how I have the same game multiple times. What about you guys, do you strive for balance, or do you like to stick to a few genres?

Space Shooters:
  1. Space Invaders
  2. Galaxian
  3. Galaga
  4. Gaplus
  5. Galaga '88

Fighting Games:
  1. Mortal Kombat
  2. Naomi System (with Capcom vs SNK, Guilty Gear, Project Justice and Royale Rumble)
  3. Neo Geo (Loaded with fighting games most of the time)
  4. CPS2 cabinet (with Marvel Vs Capcom, Hyper Street Fighter 2 Anniversary, Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha, Street Fighter Alpha 3, X-men Children of the Atom and DarkStalkers
  5. Hippodrome

Beat'm Ups:
  1. Bad Dudes
  2. Double Dragon

Nintendo:
  1. Donkey Kong
  2. Donkey Kong Junior (with DK3 in it too)
  3. Playchoice 10
  4. Red Tent

Monster Platformers:
  1. Ghost 'N Goblins
  2. Ghouls 'N Ghosts
  3. Black Tiger
  4. Rastan
  5. Cadash

Bike/Motorcycle Games:
  1. Propcycle
  2. Radikal Bikers
  3. Super Hang-On

Shooters:
  1. T2
  2. Area 51

I have a bunch more boards too.

I have all 80's Midways and 75% are Pac related. I hope to acquire some other games such as Dig Dug, Asteroids, Super Pac, Phoenix, maybe a Zaxxon (which I first discovered a couple months ago on an Atari 810 floppy drive).

Possessing many Pac-Man games is not an issue for me however. On the other hand, I have absolutely no interest in purchasing a modern video game or 90's game, as none appeal to me. Not even the Namco Reunion cabinets are to my liking due to many reasons.

Mine is kinda balanced:

1)PC10: Mostly platformers and one shooter (Duck Hunt ftw)
2)SI + kit: Different shmups
3)Frankenpede: Centipede cab rigged up to switch between Centipede and Dig Dug
4: Planned) Arkanoid: Trying to figure out a good design for a custom cab for this one

Screw balance, If you're an enormous fan of a certain genre then go nuts with it :D

Side note, I saw you had Guilty Gear and Super Hang On in your list Tighe, you lucky sunovagun

Mine's pretty well balanced with a little imbalance thrown in for good measure. :)

Maze/Pac:
Baby Pac Man

Sports:
Tri-Sports
Pub Time Premiere Darts

(2) Video Pokers
(2) Megatouch 6s
(2) Pachislo
(3) Pachinko

...and three pinball machines, but from different eras: 1950's woodrail, 1970's EM and 1990's SS.

Tie it all in with a jukebox for the tunes to enjoy while playing and we're all set! Lol!

Actually, looking at the list, I guess it's pretty imbalanced. I seem to be leaning towards the gambling theme.

Well if we are talking pins mine are balanced at lest, ST:TNG, Quicksilver and a non-working Baby Pac. ;)

Yes, I am much like you, I obsess over one Namco game series. :D

I think mine is pretty balanced now.

3 90's racers
2 shooting games
2 wall games
4 classics
4 pins
1 dart machine
1 beer fridge

Fairly balanced, given my personal lack of interest in fighting games and beat-em-ups.

Space Invaders
Zaxxon
Tron
Asteroids
Centipede
Sprint 2
Big Run
Radikal Bikers
...and a 60-1 that covers a lot of ground for casual playing.

I'm pretty unbalanced right now, but purposefully so.

I've got
-a vertical Nintendo with DK/D2K/DK Jr.
-a horizontal Nintendo with Mario Bros/Popeye/Vs. Super Mario/Gradius/Vs. Goonies
-Q*Bert (with the multi-kit)
-White Water (pinball)

I keep thinking I'd like to get something like Ghosts & Goblins but after you beat the side-scrolling platformers a few times they tend to lose play value. That's the main reason I've never bought a Dragon's Lair (heart say YES, brain says no). For those reasons, my next purchases, if any, would likely be Jr. Pacman or Tron. Star Wars might add a little variety.

My arcade is a mash up of Nintendo/Sega/Fighters but I do have most of the bases covered and a little something for everyone!

All the ladies need is Centipede, Puzzle Bobble, and a pinball machine.

I think it's kinda balanced, could be better

Golden Tee
NBA Jam

Pole Position

Dig Dug

Pac Man
Ms Pac Man
Jr. Pac Man

Galaga
Galaxian
(coming soon) Bosconian (Project about to start)

Asteroids

WWF Superstars
Bad Dudes

What does it mean to be balanced? Our's is all over the place. We have two pinballs, one Bally EM and one Gottlieb solid-state. A shooter (S.A.M.I.), a driver (Hard Drivin), a wall game (Bullseye) and a Space Invaders cocktail. Plus, we have air hockey, darts and a pachinko.

8 out of 13 are Namco games... ;-)

Now that is balanced.

Smash TV (currently Shuffleshot)

MK1 (currently running UMK3)

What criteria do you want us to use? It looks like you were using genre on your games. I'd say mine isn't balanced by genre. It's worse by manufacturer (mostly Atari/Kee) and heavily tilted towards the 70's
