So I mentioned I was going to get another mp cpo from arcadeshop and do a tastiers choice artwork challenge. There are indeed differences. The colors are slightly different and there seems to be some color bleed on one but not the other. If you look at the white copyright lettering you can see the bleed. I don't have an original to compare to. What do you guys think?

One blue seems to pop more.

One seems to have softer corners around the slower and faster type. The white on one seems brighter.

Copyright wording on one seems to have some reddish tint to it.

One seems to be a bit deeper black then the other.

Which one is better?!?!

I think they both look great!
For me, having the die-cut holes is a huge plus. Cutting the circles for the buttons isn't bad, but trying to cut the slot for the joystick can be very difficult especially if the metal CP plate was previously hacked. (super hard on games like Defender/Stargate that don't have the metal CP plate).

To me, the darker black, die cut, and clearer lettering version looks better.

TOG Update! the eagle has landed today! I finally got the rest of my pengo and moon patrol artwork. Artwork is top notch as expected.

RE:The moon patrol CPO challenge, the darker one was tog, the precut hole one is arcadeshop. both of them are great imo although I prefer TOG, the install for the precut arcadeshop was much easier.

I still plan on being a TOG customer after this long wait period. Instead of beating Rich with a stick, I think we all just need to lower shipping time expectations (8 months to 1 year - as I now have) and try to plan accordingly. I am a bit disappointed that I kept getting different delivery estimates but at the end of the day, certain art is only reproduced by him so if you need it and don't have original then there is no other option.

As I said earlier, his quality is top notch, his library is the largest - if only he could produce more art and stock it - I'm sure his business income would increase like mad. All you haters would no longer hate and buy from rich again, rich would be rich and the world of restoring would be a better place.

Yeah yeah easier said then done. yeah yeah you don't want inventory to sit on the shelf for long, yeah yeah extra staff cost money. I think more support from the community would go along way! It means more games saved!

glad you got it and it looks decent, that's never been the problem (but sometimes it is). ive always like CPO's that are not pre cut as most of the time they are always off. you can't really fix that and it looks weird unless by chance the button covers it.

good luck. lowering my expectations is something i don't plan on doing, though. 8 months to a year. it's inkjet man. and even if it is not, it is ridiculous. his business income will never increase like mad, because this is how he chooses to operate. obviously, it is enough just to get by for him so why change?

when i pay for something i expect to get it in a reasonable time and not have to play phone tag with rich's made up rolodex of excuses. like the, oh our email server put it in the junk folder, oh call us, oh talk to kendra, oh use facebook messenger, oh i forgot your order, oh you ordered on tog v1 not v2, oh its shipping soon, wrong tracking number, oh oh. it's a joke. enough not to deal with him anymore.

i have raised my expectations and look for games that have decent art and try not to worry about rich's rollercoaster. if it's not available most of the time i live with the patina and it still looks better. or even better down the road i look for phoenix arcade to produce it or another decent provider...they have been stepping up and filling in the gaps. another shitty thing is back when everyone was making art full steam, they would not produce pieces other's were working on. now that rich has gotten even worse over the years, "his large library" is sitting in purgatory and the previous places that decided against offering the same thing don't offer it now either. it's only gotten worse, but i hope slowly the others pick up the slack more.

I still need a bunch of stuff, and thought of just biting the bullet and doing a mass bulk order at one point since it apparently takes so long. I wonder if that would make a difference to help expedite things or I wonder if it would still take about the same time as if they were ordered one at a time

Totally get where your coming from. I really should higher my standards with the projects I take on. When you pick up stripped cabinets that were converted with no artwork at all on them and with limited chances of getting original art it's not an easy road unless repro is avaliable. Having products like this makes a big difference on if these cabinets can be saved. Nobody wants to store a game for years hoping parts come up..even though many of us do.

When I decide to buy/take on a project the weight really is on the repro art and parts out there.

Perfect example. I picked up a silther cabinet last year. No bezel, cpo or marquee because it was converted to a golf game. That is a rare cab but I wouldn't have taken it on unless someone had the art. Rich was the only person who did and now I have all the parts to restore it. If nobody had the art I wouldn't have picked it up and who knows where it would have gone.

Silther is such a rare cab that I don't think it would be worth the time for someone to make repro art for it. Not many people would buy right? Not worth the time and effort right? Rich did take the time and made the effort. Why? I would assume he is in the same mindset as all of us. Save the games!

Same. I have a pretty significant lineup of project and all of them need artwork. I just don't know if I want tie up that much money for 8 months. I constantly check tog website to see what's new in hopes the art I need comes back in stock

Hmm well just removed the plastic wrap and looked alittle closer. Copyright has print errors on the pengo marquee and mp bezel has some blurred words. Not clear if that's how all of them are or not. Sent a message to him. Wow waiting this long and seeing this...argh.

Surprisingly Rich just got back to me on a Friday night and said he was sorry and will take care of it tomorrow morning. What other place has a response time like that? #provinghaterswrongwithpatienceandunderstanding
Lol reminds me of when he printed off a bunch of burgertime bezels and they all said "peter peper". Perhaps he has the largest library of typos. You would think they would get fixed over the years. Well hopefully you get it within the quarter!

In this case I don't think the art file was screwed up but the printer did, garbled up the words like the print job got corrupted or something. I had to meditate after seeing it. I need to stay zen about this lol
