Is this the original Neo Geo MVS battery or did I get burned?

I bought a replacement 4 slot for my Neo Geo cab as the battery leaked on the original board by the time it came into my possession. The cpu I bought was advertised to have had the original battery replaced. I am looking at it and its looking to me as if they didn't change the battery and the original is still on the cpu. Anyone more experienced with this board please let me know if I got ripped off. Thank you.

looks original to me (just removed an identical one from my 4-slot board a couple months back)

That's what I thought, its the same battery that's on my original board that has leaked. The hot glue that's on the battery clearly has a layer of dust so its not new, at least any time recently. Happen to know if the insulating foam/paper back is replaceable? My original board didn't have the cut down the middle of it like the board I just got.

If you take the two boards apart and look, the battery probably has a date code laser written on it. Two of the numbers will be the week (I believe) and two will be the year. If it's original one of the numbers will be a 9....

even if it leaked a tiny tiny bit,, it could cause a problem.
If it hasnt been changed and the board is still working, i would still change that bitch out.
