On a game I brought home tonight, the pins on the tube look like Edward Scissorhands. I'm not entirely sure of what was done but, is this something that appears safe to hook back up to the board that goes to the monitor chassis?

looks like the plastic guide has been pulled off. First, make sure the tube isn't cracked there aywhere (I think there is usually a nipple there that might be missing". If everything looks solid, straighten the pins with some needle-nose pliers before trying to put the neckboard on. And make sure you get the focus pin in the focus slot when you do...

Thanks, I thought I was missing a piece (confirming with you). I found a small white piece in the bottom of the cab, but thought maybe it was just a piece off of a prior monitor chassis board. I will definitely put that on before powering this thing up.

itll run without it, its just a guide to help put the neckboard on..

like mod said, if your CAREFUL you should be able to reinstall the neckboard after carefully straightening the pins and use care when reinstalling to make sure all pins go into the socket properly...

tube's cactus.. glass degassing nipple is missing, probably find something has hit the neckboard, bending pins and knocking the plastic key off.
If you hook it up, all they do is hiss and arc internally. They don't bite you tho.
To dispose of them, I carefully tap the nipple off to let the air in to render them safe and then smash them up in the wheelybin/rubbish bin, so they take up less room.

Ive got the degaussing nipple, found it in the bottom of the cab last night. There is a small trace of glass around the base, where I'm assuming it was glued to the tube originally. Aside from that I'm not seeing any damage.

I'm going to look to see if there's a good glass glue or epoxy at HD at lunch time, and I'll see if I can get this bugger back on there.

Hmm after some more thought, maybe I'll see if I can get my daughter to do it :D

If you found the glass nipple...sorry to say, that tube is garbage. No amount of epoxy will get the vacuum back. Sorry.

Look up into the end of the tube...where the neckboard goes....in the center of all those bent pins. It should be sealed....that's where yours is broken. I bet on yours....you could physically stick a small screwdriver up into it. You're going to get one hell of a light show when you fire that up....I recommend doing it with the lights turned off. Light shows always look best in the dark :)

I will definitely check it out tonight. I appreciate the info. And here I was happy because I found the plastic piece!! :(

The plastic piece is fine. I've actually seen tubes where the glass nipple broke off, but didn't create a vacuum leak in the tube because the nipple was longer or whoever blew the tube had it a little thicker there under it....

Same here, I would give it a try to be sure before trashing it.

Looks like Edward was right.. after a 2-hr endeavor this AM in attempting to reseat the plastic end and bring the tube back to life, the operation resulted in failure and we lost the patient. :(

I had everything wired back up properly, got the pins straightened out, etc, and upon power up there was a blue spark that danced around inside the neck, and a high-pitched whine to go with it. After about 45 secs, the blue light was gone.

So, I guess I'm in the market for a 19" tube that is compatible with a G07 EBO monitor chassis. Another KLOVer has offered one up if I can wait until the Crabtowne gathering on 2/20, but if there are any others out there that are available, I'll be glad to consider the possibility! A game that plays blind is called.............. a jukebox. :(
