Is this really what a Naomi 2 setup goes for these days??

$725 for (capcom vs snk 2, naomi 2 mani unit, dimm cartridge, gd rom drive,
gd rom disk and chip, jamma adapter board, usb cable, power jumper cable,
gd rom cable, audio cable, and vga cable) seems about right to me.

around $500-1000 these days for a complete naomi setup, yup yup.

this shit ain't cheap no more. if you think it's too pricey, we should go back to the atari 2600 hobby. :p

Seems a bit high to me, and I can't believe it because I actually bought this setup untested last year and will definitely sell for that price! What's crazy to me is that I didn't think there were a whole lot of games on that system.....and it didn't look like the net dimm....but I suppose it might have been

That's a normal DIMM. It probably would have gone for more if you had the NetDIMM with SCSI.

I figure $100ish for the mainboard, $250 for the Capcom I/O. Not sure what the rest is worth, but you're halfway there with those two parts alone. And eBay prices are always higher than what you'll get with a sale to a collector.

You have better luck finding a trashed machine, and salvaging it like I did. Got a CvS in a terrible konami cab and a k7000 that needed work but everything else was great, board and capcom i/o for 200. Turned it into a MvC2 and now looking for a Blast City to put it in.

I bid this auction up to $300 just messing around. I would have taken it at that price!

While the Naomi 2 doesn't have a lot of games, you can play all of the Naomi 1 games if you net boot or compact flash boot the roms. You can even play lots of Atomiswave games as well.

I have the Naomi 1 setup with the Net Dimm to load the roms from a RasPi. Works great and the games are great as well. Over 90 games!

I LOVE mine!

Here's mine without the RasPi

Capcom I/O (left) $200
Sun Power Supply (bottom) $90
Naomi 1 (top tan box) $100
Net DIMM (inserted in Naomi) $200
RasPi fully loaded plug N play with PiPlate (not pictured) $130

So yeah, it's an expensive setup, but things may be changing for the better in the not too distant future...:D

It's the obsession as of late. I sold all of my Sega stuff back when I saw the interest peaking. You'll probably see a lot of insane prices for awhile as a few guys get bored and try to recoup their investment. Then the prices will fall back to earth and guys will be stuck trying to get what they can so they can buy diapers or whatever. Reminds me of the CPSII madness, the multicade madness, and all the other trends that have come before.
