Is this JAMMA Wire Harness Cheap?

I have bought a bunch of these. If you are using it for a 60 in 1 it is fine. You may have to modify a couple of connectors. I have no trouble with them and you can't beat the price.

That was less of a headache 15 years ago, but now, online shopping has made mailing a check a headache. Funny (or not) how things have changed...Anyway thanks for the info! Also, thanks for the link to Quarterarcade. I searched arcadeshop, jammaboards, Nixs, and paradisearcade for the fully loaded harness. So far, quarterarcade and TRBR are the only two sites I have seen that sell it.
Thanks guys,
Greg

Mailing checks sucks. That is why I just enter the amount online with my banks billpay feature and they mail the check.

I got one of those harnesses recently. I really liked it. There were a few issues I saw with it but nothing that was too much of a headache. There were the power issue Ken mentioned, no -5v lead, and the video connector didn't fit the standard US monitor. Not sure what it was. I replaced the video leads with a harness that came with my monitor. Didn't need the -5v for the 60 in 1. I think these are made by the same suppliers as the board. The best part of the harness was all of the connectors were already crimped on. Make wiring up the control panel really painless.

And Paradisearcadeshop.com is a fantastic company to buy from. Bryan was very helpful to me when I got my stuff from them!

I try to cut corners whenever possible but everybody's right, the harness is pretty cheap. I don't use them, even though it kills me to pay the 16 bucks or whatever for a regular harness.

What about Twisted Quarter?

The only thing that sucks about TRBR is you can't order/pay easily. If he could solve that issue he would be the #1 seller of most things arcade.

Can't order/pay easily?!?! WTF are you on?

There is nothing easier than Bob. You send an email which takes oh, about 30 seconds and within an hour or 2 he confirms your order and the stuff is sent. Put a check in the mail and it's done.

I get my items in 2 days. Ebay nor anyone else can get you stuff that quick. NO ONE!!

High five.

I can't believe all the whiners on here who'll lug some stinky-ass fridge-sized 30 year old boring game into their homes so they can spend 90% of the time fixing it and 10% playing it, yet can't send a check in the mail.

Get over it. It is what it is and it works just fine.

Don't get me wrong...I love Bob Roberts. He is the first place I go for everything! Some of these other guys are really doing a great job too and they should be checked out also. I actually just ordered from Paradisearcadeshop, Bob Roberts, Arcadeshop, and Twisted Quarter. They were all fantastic! How many other businesses or hobbies can you say have such great resources. Then you got This Old Game, Mikes Arcade, Quarter Arcade... All excellent!

Don't get me wrong what Bob Roberts does for this community it beyond amazing, but for anyone to argue that his website/ system of ordering is user friendly or less of a hassle than other sites is a joke . His website is hard to navigate (comparitively) unless you have it memorized (items are scattered in different sections). The shipping/payment system in antiquated (even for 10 years ago). In summary, is Bob Roberts a benefit to this community...Yes. Could he update his site and paying system....another Yes.

PS: This was just an oberservation, not a judgement, so no one else has to quote me and look for some "glass half full" statement to say.

This has been hashed and rehashed in the forums. It's pointless to discuss, observe, judge, whatever you want to call it. Bob's business is his to run, and it is what it is.

The funny thing is (I think) everyone knows deep down that I am right, but some are too scared to admit it. I have not been a member of these forums long, but unfortunately I am starting to see the pointlessness. I hope Bob stays in business for many years to come, and I also hope for some updates. Only time will tell.
