Is this is 4600? And a question about it.

It's kind of odd, it has the daughter boards like my other 4600's but the flyback is mounted off to the side on the monitor frame. Also, it was working fine when I picked it up, fine when I unloaded it and hooked it up last night (it's in a Vanguard) and fine this morning when I came into the store and played a game before we opened. I then moved it 4 feet and it's all nuts. It scrolls in a diagonal manner.

I tried reseating the daughter boards, unplugging and reconnecting everything.. What else should I check?

Thanks.

4600's are notorious for cold solder joints on those pins the cards sit on. Reflow the solder on them including the cards connectors as well..

P.S. Looks to have the original caps, ya might want to cap kit that sucka too.

That is a 4600, did you check both sides of the data cable? Try reseating the end attached to the game board.

I thought so but I've never seen one with the flyback like this.

Yes I did, just did again and there is no change. The contacts look really clean too.

Like Robran said, these develop cold solder joints fairly often. If you can watch the monitor while moving around the daughter cards you can try to see if you can get the pic to stabilize, or at least change. This way you know where the problem is.

check you connections on the logic board....you have lost sync and since you have checked at the monitor this is where I would look....good luck.

Correct! The problem was on the board, not the monitor. It had been repaired at some point and there were a few jumpers someone had put on there. One was loose, I looked around for solder on the legs of all the chips that was done in the same messy manner the other wires were soldered, resoldered it and it's good to go (besides just needing a cap kit).

Thanks to everyone for the input.

All 4600's have the flyback mounted remote. You are probably confusing it with a 4900 which has the flyback on the chassis pcb like most do.
