I got this board in a deal from the infamous "Davez" and decided to take a look at it. Not sure how they managed this but a chip was ripped off including all the traces and pads for it. When I got the board they had the chips hanging off the board from a few wires where it looked like they were attempting to repair it.
The board is working, just doesnt coin up. Setting to free play in the service menu allows the game to boot and play fine.
Check out the pic of the carnage.

Technically yes, it is repairable. That is if it wasn't a custom chip that was removed. All you would have to do to repair this is find out what chip was removed, get another and trace where all the pin connections went. Use wire to solder from the pins of the chip to where its corresponding trace leads and it should work fine.
This could however be quite tricky and in some cases not work due to the complexity of the board and if the trace leads to multiple places.

Its fixed, working 100 percent. I used some epoxy to make sure everything stays where it should.

Depending on the chip,it would be cool to order one in a different package so you could use a socket or at least have larger legs to solder to.All the surface mount i played with was modding xboxs,i used wrapping wire as it was easy to solder to the board.
Good luck

Great job. I couldn't really tell that well how damaged the traces were and how close it's connections were supposed to be. Seems that you got lucky and the traces were somewhat salvageable and you were able to solder everything where it was without wires(It's so much nicer not to have to use wires when possible)

The chip was a 74245. I have them in dip but that would have looked horrible.
The traces going to all 20 pins were screwed! I used wirewrap wire to rebuild the traces then set the ic on and tacked it to the new wire traces. I have about an hour and a half into it.

looks like a multiboard to me..

NICE REPAIR JOB!!!

seriously, NICE JOB!!! i mean seriously it took me about a minuite to figure out which one you repaired. If you really wanted to hide it you could epoxy all those chips thwe same way then nobody would ever know.
