Here is a brief description:

This auction is for the rare Sea Wolf and Bombardier for the Astrocade and Bally Arcade systems. This is rated a rarity 8 by Digital Press. This is a very difficult to find label variation. I only ship to the U.S. I only accept PayPal. This is sold as is with all sales final.

Apparently not. "Posting has been deleted"

Speaking of which, anyone have one of these consoles they'd want to part with? I've been kind of looking for one of these for several years now.

Offer me a fair price a professional told me a price range so don't low ball if your going to low ball then It probably clear you don't have money to own collectible antique gaming stuff

AnywAys don't waste my time and I won't waste yours

Actual pictures of the console

I also have another Bally game with out the box but all the other stuff

Also 6 sealed games for the Bally game

And a color game action game console that really rare since no one have seen one and it early early 70s

I have 2 down my basement sitting next to about 30 ataris and a dozen of each colecos and intellevisions. oh and a pair of RCA sudio 2s. They are all on a long list of stuff to fix and test.

The basis of the Bally Astrocade home system was the same as what was used in the original MCR (Midway Card Rack) boardsets (e.g. Wizard of Wor, Robby Roto, Gorf). That's why Mame refers to it as "astrocade hardware".)

To show how close it is to home games ... they output standard color composite video signal that required a separate Composite->RGB board to connect those MCR's to an arcade monitor.

So: Great design... RGB->Composite onboard --> Composite->RGB board screwed to side of cabinet. (A good reason why Gorf looks so crappy on emulators since it doesn't have the analog NTSC color funkiness/smearing/dot crawl you'd have on the conversion) And why Gorf is so slow as more stuff is on the screen--(in a way) you were playing home hardware in the arcade.

Makes the design of the Tron MCR2 boardset seem exceptional :p

I just sold my Astrocade about a year ago. Wish I wouldn't have. It had GunFight built in, and I had the Wizard of Wor and Sea Wolf cartridges. I loved the Wizard of Wor version, darn close to the original.

Whoa. Really? You didn't know Bally's Astrocade?

*shakes head sadly and walks away slowly*

Astrocade

I bought one many years ago...

It is mint with about 12 cartridges and works great. The joysticks have a really nice soft, fluid kind of feel to them. It's a fun system...

What are you doing with the cart Phet?

Astrocade and an Odyssey1 are the last 2 classic home systems I'm hankerin' for. Astro plays a great version of Wizard of Wor (Incredible Wizard) and Galaxian (Galactic Invasion). It's also got the only home port of Dogpatch for any classic system. If you come across a BA for less than $40, get it. It oozes that late-70's video-gaming feel.

But the controllers are a freakin' BITCH to fix! (Or am I confusing it with a Channel F again?)

Weird.. I collected console stuff for years before getting into the arcade/pin hobby.. Not once have I seen one of these systems.. Heh, I've owned half a dozen Vectrex systems (which I thought were rare-ish). Guess I need to own aN Astrocade now!! Great, more shit my wife will be annoyed with :)
