I have a cab here that i am working on... came with a K7000 yoke / rings / tube with no chassis. Im getting ready to put in a replacement chassis.

I also noticed that the cab has a Frost FL117 (model number may be wrong, im not at the offiice) which the monitor is running AC from. It says output: 115 VAC 300V Max

What is this thing ? I know in Canada these things are common. What are they ?

Hey there, thanks for the reply.

The input is the same as the output... some im guessing its a ISO transformer ?

Im just wondering if its good enough to run the monitor and the systems PSU off of ? Cuz thats how its wired right now.

In Canada, there was some kind of law requiring that the *entire* game be isolated. They made these big isolation transformers that were added to most games by the ops - sounds like what you have. They aren't step-down, just isolation. But, in addition to the whole-game isolation transformer, there was generally still a normal isolation transformer in the cabinet for just the monitor, since it came from the factory that way, and the whole-cab transformer was added later.

But yes, you can use one of those as a monitor isolation transformer. They're just bigger and rated to handle more current, and they usually have a power socket on them for output. I've seen some where the game's original power cord was simply coiled up in the bottom, plugged into the transformer, and the transformer had it's own cord that now exited the game.

Cool, there is a little 3 prong plug for the output.

I was thinking that i needed to install an extra sperate ISO transformer for the monitor, as this setup didnt come with it.

Good to know this thing will work... thanks very much
