This board is currently for sale on ebay, the asking price undoubtably reflects the work put in to repairing it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/225818453784?hash=item3493d42718:g:GN4AAOSwMUllKxsd

The seller may be a member here but my questions are for the general community:

1) What disaster results in the damage seen in the pics? Just running the TDA1004 amps without heat sinks ?

2) Is the fix ( PCBs running TDA 2003 amps) now a commercial solution available around here somewhere ? Seller states they're prototype boards.

Wow, that's ugly as fuck.

I like to at least make an attempt to clean things up and make the repair cosmetically appealing. Epoxy would have helped here.

Perhaps. Always a question of how far to go on cosmetics, not sure what I would have done in this case.

I think the technical resolution is a good effort at least.
