What do I do with this? The cabinet is in really rough shape and basically falling apart. The kit on Ebat for $1800 makes it seem like it is not worth doing anything with it.

If you have possession of that cabinet, take a look at the black stamped numbers on the rear of the coinbox. You can see the stamp in the picture taken from the back of the cabinet.... it will be in the high 200s or low 300s most likely.
FWIW, that 3 digit number that is stamped on the rear of the coin box is NOT the serial number. Not exactually sure what that number is. Maybe some kind of plant number or something? Possibly the cabs were built in differnet buildings maybe.
The reason I say this is because my Cliffy cabinet actually had serial number stickers on it that said "serial number: xxxx". Plus we have found several cabinets out in the wild with the same 3 digit number stamped on the back of the coinbox.
This argument will never rest.... I am a firm believer that it does have some relevance to a production or serial number. My two cliffys were in the low 300s, I've seen others in the high 200s, never once have i seen a duplicate so could it be possible that they screwed up with the numbering?
I think there was also an embossed or stamped number on the back of the upper part of the cabinet.

Bastard!
