Is this a Cliff Hanger cabinet?

What do I do with this? The cabinet is in really rough shape and basically falling apart. The kit on Ebat for $1800 makes it seem like it is not worth doing anything with it.

Yeah the cliffys had the front access panel on the right side. Plus it looks like there's the classic blue overspray all over the inside of the cabinet, which they were so good at doing. :)

If you have possession of that cabinet, take a look at the black stamped numbers on the rear of the coinbox. You can see the stamp in the picture taken from the back of the cabinet.... it will be in the high 200s or low 300s most likely.

You can always Daphne the cabinet and save yourself the headache of finding parts. You'll still be able to play cliffy as well as other laser games. It may not be authentic hardware but you'd still be bringing the cabinet back to its former glory.

I can't quite tell from the front picture, does it still have the bottom drawer panel in front?

I'd resto the cabinet... you can still get side art, and someone will have a panel and marquee. The rest can be newer hardware... go for it.

Oh, and submit those photos to dragons-lair-project.com website, they have a lasergame graveyard section of converted laser games. i'm sure they'd appreciate it.

FWIW, that 3 digit number that is stamped on the rear of the coin box is NOT the serial number. Not exactually sure what that number is. Maybe some kind of plant number or something? Possibly the cabs were built in differnet buildings maybe.

The reason I say this is because my Cliffy cabinet actually had serial number stickers on it that said "serial number: xxxx". Plus we have found several cabinets out in the wild with the same 3 digit number stamped on the back of the coinbox.

if you pick that up and need any replacement parts, i make that entire cabinet, including the control panel!

This argument will never rest....:D I am a firm believer that it does have some relevance to a production or serial number. My two cliffys were in the low 300s, I've seen others in the high 200s, never once have i seen a duplicate so could it be possible that they screwed up with the numbering?

I think there was also an embossed or stamped number on the back of the upper part of the cabinet.

Yes, this is a 10 year old debate that I will fight till I die! The strange part with your theory is that when we used to have the LD Game Registry on the D-L-P, there was lots of Cliff Hangers registered all in that 250-350 range,... which I thought was odd, but then there was like 6 seperate collectors that had the serial numbers one after another.... (something like 289, 290, 291, 292, etc. etc. That just doesn't seem correct to me, that us DLP'ers just happened to wind up with serial numbers all right next to each other. No to mention the duplicate 3 digit number on some of the cabs.

My cab and many others had serial number stickers on the cabinet and all PCB's Here were the pics from my machine. Even says "serial number"

A05003 printed on the front power plug on mine. If it is a serial number than it means atleast a few more than 5000.
