IS there allot more collectors who isnt on the forums.

I have met about 6 collectors in the past few months and 5 out of 6 of them isn't on this forum and when I tell them abput it they could really care less and don't seem to bother with it.Have any of you met collectors like that?

This happens all the time.
I found Klov the day of or after i stumbled across my first games.

It's crazy to think that in this day and age you could have games and not know of klov, but I see it constantly when picking up games.

Took me about 6 months to find this place, I hadn't really thought anyone collected arcade games, bought my first and after looking for pieces to replace I stumbled in here, kind of refreshing actually, just sad I hadn't got started sooner. :(

I'm pretty sure Gene from Vintage Arcade Superstore in Glendale, CA isn't on here. Neither is Bob Roberts.

Your subject line for the thread is a massacre of the English language, btw.

Most of the collectors I've met aren't KLOV members. arcade enthusiast != computer geek :)

i've talked to quite a few collectors who are not members or (non-posting members just to use the search function) but know it exists and sometimes read the repair forums for help.

then i've run into a few who don't know about KLOV, though that's pretty rare. most seem to at least be aware of its existence.

There are quite a few peoplr out there that may not even consider themselves as "collectors". They may have a couple of video games or more, but have no interest in doing anything but play them and sell them when they are broken. And I have met several operators that have no interest in message boards about video games. They run their machines during the day and forget about them at night.

i was a collector for about 9 years before i found klov. lots of collectors just do their own thing and dont "bother" with forums. i take breaks from collecting games every once in a while and concentrate on my hot rods, then i get back into games and ease back from the hot rod stuff. it keeps me from getting burned out on one hobby.

I collected for about four or five years before ever checking out this site.

Yeah I've been into arcades since the late 90's and only stumbled upon KLOV looking for info on monitor repair . Theres alot of people into arcades that are not on forums , I think the majority .

Every so often when I happen across a funny, I write it on a post it and stick it to the edge of my LCD so I can enjoy the laugh for the day.

I did that with the thread title.

How close is this post-it to the one that says "here's the 250 dollars- don't give me any bullsh!t and grab a side"?

It's actually a great score, if the title is going for anti*-grammar points... (Anti*, hence the positive score I'm getting ready to present)

IS is all capitalized. +1
IS instead of Aren't. +5 (Which is still a bad way to begin a sentence...)
allot instead of "a lot." +5
who instead of "that" or another word. +5
isnt without an apostrophe. +1
isnt instead of aren't. +5
. at end instead of "?" +10

Score: 32. Out of a 10-word sentence. Not too shabby at all. Not sure what the record is... Too many contestants in the world!

Not real sure on how to grade for the usage of "more," as it just makes the whole thing wonky... If the sentence read, "Aren't there a lot more collectors that aren't on the forums?" that would read ok, and none of us would have Grammar Nazi'd up, but probably just "Aren't there more" would work better.

BTW, Kjeffrey, all this is all in fun, I hope you realize that. Lord knows I have written sentences in my life that would have made my 2nd grade English teacher squirm a bit... And I've probably made a few errors in this post, I would imagine...

I actually enjoyed the subject line, and as M1A mentioned, thought of Post-It noting it myself... :D

Nice. I'm a fifth grade teacher and am currently cramming for state testing next week. Every time I read a sentence such as this and 98% of Craigslist ads I feel like I have failed the whole world.

just going to point out before someone else does in a less diplomatic way that the proper expression is "couldn't care less".
