Is there a Neo-Geo multicart that wont burn my screen?

Just curious. I have a nice newer monitor with no burn. Lately I've been thinking about the menu from the 108-1 I'm running now and how its going to burn that tube eventually. Just curious if any other carts have any kind of screen saver or atract mode???

do you leave it on all the time? if you just turn it on for a few hours a week to play then i wouldn't worry about it. CRT burn takes quite a long time, unlike plasma burn.

I would'nt leave it on the list of games screen.. Have it playing something when your not playing it

Not easy to keep track of with other games in the house. Alli will have friends over now and then and I might be too busy to monitor whats currently playing. Just wondering at this point if theres a multicart available that wont have a chance at burning the screen.

That is my only gripe with the 161in1 cart. It always boots up to the main menu game select screen instead of the last game I chose.

I've always wondered if the 138in1 worked differently and booted up to the last game that was selected. Would be nice if anyone could share their experience with this.

When I turn my arcade on, the first thing I do is run to the NEO GEO and select a game from the menu. I hate that menu.

Nope, 138 in 1 boots to game select menu every time.

You aren't going to burn that in on home use. Burn in comes from being on all day, every day for YEARS. My Neo Geo has the same cart and is probably on less than 2 hours a month.

This is what I do too. I switch my games on with a remote but still have to walk over to the Neo Geo and select a game to get rid of that ugly menu.

GRRRR.... I have a 4 slot and enjoy the attract mode cycling through all 4 games but it doesn't begin until I choose a game on the multicart. I guess I'll have to learn to live with it.

I've considered some kind of MAME setup that plugs right into the MVS harness. MVS stuff is well emulated, and it might be a nice way to play MVS games without screwing around with the crappy multicarts, or swapping the originals around.

Yeah I mostly immediately set that thing to puzzle bobble or metal slug anyway. You may want to get a cart of your favorite game (or any true or 'true' MVS cart) to leave in there and when people want to play something else it's easy enough to swap out.
