Is there a classic/retro arcade (with at least 15 old retro games) within 20-30 minutes drive for you, and have you been?

This includes classic arcades with or without a liquor license.

Due to the Bonus Question below,

There are a couple of retrocades and a handful of barcades around here. None of them are what I'd call "great" in terms of selection, but a little is still better than none...

Any and all possible, whenever possible.

Cobra Arcade Bar is my home away from home. I'm like Norm from Cheers there. :D

Lincoln has one. We walked there after going to another event downtown. We have gone to two in Omaha. Plus, the PHOF in Vegas in the old building.

Been going to Retrocade in Calimesa a bit with the kids. I feel the need to support our local arcades whenever possible.

We have two one of which we frequent regularly. We also have two high-end pinball bars in the area. Iowa actually has a surprising number of retro arcades.

Retrocade would be my go to arcade, as it's about 30+ minutes from me. Kinda weird driving past MOP on the way though.

I was just at Beercade 2 in Omaha for a pinball tournament today, love that place. (I played horribly).

You're in danger of sounding like a old fart! :)

McFly will confirm I at least smell like an old fart. :poop:
But really, no arcade up here has the collection of classics like I have in my arcade. So, why go out to play if I can play in my own arcade and drink my own booze and not waste any "gas" (and not need to distance or wear a mask). LOL

Oh I get it. Just messing with ya... you're Canadian... its a must if your an American like me to mess with our northern brothers.

Yes. I kept finding myself explaining gameplay, history, and recommending other games. Got asked multiple times if I worked there.

We have a barcade downtown and maybe some other places, hard to tell past this lockdown situation. HOWEVER, the updown is still open. Went there once with friends and another time to see if I could get away with going by myself. Strange experience, barcades are like 75% bars and 25% arcades. The lone wolves tend to play Pinball, and I don't drink so eh, probably won't go again, BUT. They did have quite a few pinballs, a couple newer games but mostly older ones. Apparently they have quite a decent stockpile of games that they cycle in and out. The selection was good, I mean, they had Arkanoid up and running so of course thats a win.

Looks like someone is doing a little market research.

None 20-30 mins that I go to, but an hour-ish (Funspot), and I do go there. There's also FreeplayRI, which is closer to two hours away, but well worth the drive.

I got to visit their warehouse a while back and it is pretty amazing. I've never seen so many Tappers in all my life.

Although I'm still mourning the loss of Grinkers (which was just minutes from my office), we've got a barcade called SpaceBar with a nice selection of classic uprights (and one lonely cocktail Gorf right in front of a bathroom) and some new pinball cabinets, as well as a co-op pinball hall called The Ugly Gold Couch with a fantastic line-up of classic pins.

I live in one of the top-3 fastest-growing cities in the US: New Braunfels, TX. Its between two major cities (25 miles north of San Antonio and 45 Miles south of Austin). San Antonio has ZERO classic arcades. Austin has three which fit the OP's criteria. Two (Pinballz locations) do not focus on vids, nor do they maintain their vids well and will sell them off of the floor.

Bishop Cidercade is the only true classic video arcade (IMO) within 3 hours (Houston) to 5 hours (DFW) from New Braunfels. I'm 47 miles (1 hr drive) from Cidercade and have gone there every other month since it opened last fall.
