Is there a 1 stop shop online for all my arcade needs?

Lately i've been trying to help a friend refresh his 4 player midway cab, and it's been rather frustrating trying to order replacement parts.

Everywhere we go to shop is either out of stock of something needed, or they only have some of the list of items we're looking for. one place will have a couple of the 8 way sticks we want but not both colors we're looking for. Another Place has the sticks but not the 7/8" coin door lock we want.

These are all the places we've tried

Twisted Quarter (no IL Eurosticks)
Lizard Lick (out of IL Eurostick reds and cherry switches)
Paradise (no 7/8" coin door lock)
Bob Roberts (doesn't carry IL Euro's)

My buddies just trying to save on shipping as each order placed adds another 10-15$ to the total.

Correct me if i'm wrong on Paradise not having a 7/8" lock (i suppose a 1" would work but he'd rather the same as originally used which was 7/8").

These are all great places i'm not denying that at all. I'm just looking for another option.

I didn't read everything you said above, I have only 2 words for you.

Bob Roberts.

heh you gotta read it, trust me i'm a big supporter of Bob, unfortunately he doesn't carry IL :(

i guess lizard lick is my place in this situation but any other options since they're out?

I like to spread my money around.

I like all those guys and I don't want any to go out of business.

Although, I have stopped buying from lizard lately because they are always out of stock. Bryan at paradise always gets what I want even if he doesn't stock it! He really is great. I only ordered from Groovy Game Gear once, since they are in NY I ended up paying NYS sales tax :(

Edit:

I never buy my locks online, I just get keyed alike cash register locks they are the same and I can get them at TSC, truevalue and ace.

Have you tried http://www.arcadeshop.com/? I'm under the impression that Happ is expensive. There really isn't a good single source, you just end up having to pay some extra shipping sometimes.

i too believe in spreading my money as i also don't want to see any of them go under. but it's not my money it's my friends and he doesn't see it the same way (yet).

Get everything from paradise, and buy the locks from Tractor Supply locally.

hmm good idea, i'm sure he'd prolly just go to lowes for them if they have them, if not it's a definite trip to Tractor Supply.

Try Truvalue first, I don't think Lowes carries National brand locks. The the good thing about TSC is that they carry the keyed alike version, which is really nice.

Paradise includes chocolate English Toffee things, at least my two orders did. Was well worth the price. Also email him as his site doesn't update correctly on his quantities.

pretty much what i figured.

I constantly have a "Next Order" file going on my pc for bob, seems every time i think i have the list complete about a week or less from that order i find something else i need lol.

So whats all the hate with Happ or do they not carry a lot of supplies for the older games? Just wondering thanks.

Tim

I don't have any hate for them. I just know that when I've looked at their prices compared to pretty much every other vendor, the prices are higher. I haven't looked in a while, and I haven't compared a lot of products, so it's possible that's changed, or is a mis-impression from whatever I was looking for the last time I checked them out.

They also don't happen to stock anything specific to older games, but there's nothing wrong with that, it's just their choice of product mix.

Comes down to the fact that every thing is 30%-50% more if you buy from them direct.

I thought that most of these guys bought from Happ, is that not the case? Is there another vendor they deal with or are they just getting such a good deal from Happ because of bulk?

only reason i haven't ordered from Happ is because the part numbers from manuals never work in the search field on their site, always have to e-mail them i suppose.

I don't know for sure, but it looks to me like they are just buying bulk and passing on some of the savings. For instance, the Happ competition button is $2.45/ea from Happ (qty1), but only $.85 (qty 50) and $1.70 (qty 100). Lizard Lick sells it at $1.95 (qty 1). If Lizard Lick bought lots of 100 from Happ, that would leave them 25 cents of profit on each switch and save me a fair bit. And that's only with the published bulk prices from Happ. If you're a regular reseller (and buying 100+ of multiple products in one go), I'd bet they give steeper discounts. In fact, looking again at Lizard Lick, they only charge $1.85/ea for classic buttons, while Happ wants $2.45 (qty 100) for the same part. So Lizard Lick has to have some kind of deal going on.

It may be that Happ just only wants to deal with larger orders, so they charge more on small quantities to make up for the hassle factor. Lots of larger companies do this - they price themselves out of the market for small orders, but they end up with less overhead because they make so much more money on the large orders.

When I had my arcade restoration shop, I had a business account with happ you had to call in orders but the prices was about half of the website.

I've order dorectly from Happ. I got a Power supply and a gun PCB, and when I called them it was cheaper then their website. Just a thought. But now that I know better I prefer other sites.

THe HAPP competition sticks are knock offs of IL Eurosticks...and they don't measure up to be honest.
