Hey guys, I am writing a script for a review of T2: The Arcade Game. Was this the first game to take an established franchise and turn it in to a Gun Based arcade shooter? Key word GUN BASED, I know there were tons of arcade games based on already established franchises.

I was trying to rack my brain and couldn't think of any gun based games released prior to it that featured established franchises. I only come up with ones released after.

Not 100% on topic, but from what I've read Mortal Kombat started as a test project featuring Jean Claude Vandamme but the entire concept was scrapped because they had too much problems with him being available and he was not really interested once developpement started. Midway took the assets and told the team to do something with it, and that how Mortal Kombat came to be. The entire concept of Johnny Cage has always been a nod to Jean-Claude, with the split punch, and general attitude.. Johnny Cage.. Jean Claude.. Get it?

The whole Cage storyline seems like a dig at Van Damme; an actor with fighting skills who always has to defend himself against attacks from the industry about him being a phony.

What's hilarious is that the Mortal Kombat game was nearly scrapped before being market-tested. The trial showed to be very popular and thats how the game came to be. Midway didnt really believe in it considering its troubled developpement and resurections.

And about your question, I can't think of any myself.
