After reviewing their calander of upcoming auctions it seems super auctions maybe out of the business of auctioning arcade equipment and more into selling hollywood entertainment related items. I understand if they are out of the game auction business, as the last few auctions in Dallas were small with very few classic games for sell.

The last so-cal auction was about the saddest thing I've seen arcade-wise. But, I think they will just have fewer of them until the market picks back up again. The Auction guys were saying that they couldn't get any of the normal ops to sell at the auctions since they didn't want to let their stuff go cheap with the market all crappy. I say give it a couple years, and we'll be back in full swing again. In the meantime, be prepared for a few sad auctions. I'll probably still go to the local ones if I can.

It's also possible that their web "master" just hasn't updated it. They do that from time to time. They have nothing and then, wham!, 6 things in the next month show up on the schedule.

Well its not looking to good. These fuckers wrote me a $600 hot check at the last Mesquite auction. With a stolen game, AND now a hot check I'm pissed. Im hoping I dont have to go dig up my equipment and hunt these guys. Anybody have info (full names/addys) on these guys that isn't on the website. It will save me internet search time. If they are trying to dissappear, me and these guys are going to be making national news together.

Are you the one that had his crane stolen? I saw the CL ads, but didn't know who it was.

They have been moving away from arcade stuff for awhile, no? Bad checks and no updates...not a good sign. Here's hoping it isn't the end.

Thats not good when a business starts writing hot checks. Racerx if I knew some more about SA i would let you know. One person that maybe able to help you out with some info, might be Scott Petterson. Come to think about when was the last time you saw Rob owner of SA at an auction.

I saw Rob at an auction in January of last year. I personally believe that they will probably focus on performing "liquidation" auctions for family entertainment centers. The last few flyers that I received from them were specifically for those types of auctions. It makes sense, because all they have to do is show up to the facility and run the auction. They don't have to rent out space at a convention center or anything, and they only have to pay ONE person at the end of the auction. I am sure that these "family fun centers" are dropping like flies these days, as most people aren't spending money on anything other than necessities anymore...

I can understand SA adapting to the change in the market place, by not conducting as many auctions or any auctions at all.

Rob was at the last Dallas Superauction. There were a ton of games there but not too many classics. Many of the ops who buy/sell there have been saying they stick around for cash payment. They have been saying that the sales are drying up and that they think that the days of arcade auctions are about done. Me personally, I think that they will spread out further and further till there is no more product.

Racer X, sorry to hear you got ripped off. Have they made it right yet?

Nope not yet. Im currently accumulating my gear just in case they don't. I dont play when it comes to money. I get hot every time I think about it.

Interesting. I haven't been to a lot of auctions over the years, but AGS did one in Harrisburg not long ago and they had a LOT of stuff. Took them 2 hours or so just to get through the mega-touches. There weren't a lot of classics, but there were enough that I stayed for them to get through them. When I left they were well into the jukes.

I don't know if it was small by comparison with other years or not, but they certainly filled the hall they were in. I don't think we've had a lot of auctions in the area for a while, so perhaps it was built-up demand? They are doing another in Sept, then another in Dec, so perhaps I'll be able to compare.
