Is space Invaders Deluxe / Pt. II from 1979 or 1980 ?!

OK so on KLOV it lists Space Invaders Deluxe - 1980... however a snap black and white photo has it saying Dec. 1979
on TAFA it claims it's also 1979/1980, however the flyer says 1979.

So which is it ? Was the game manufactured in 1979, and predominantly / officially released in 1980 ?

According to MAWS ( http://maws.mameworld.info/maws/ ), again says

year: 1980...

but yet on the bottom says:
- SERIES -
Space Invaders Deluxe (1979)

Space Invaders Deluxe was again licensed by Bally/Midway from Taito in 1980 ?

the pdf, according to brents site says 1980 Jan. Stamped on top of the manual:

So I'm thinking it's made in 1979, Licensed to Bally / Midway for US distribution in 1980, or did it come out Dec. of 79' ?in the US ? I played on one tonight, didn't noticed a date in the game nor anywhere on the actual cabinet. Does anyone have one ?

To be honest I kind of fell in love with playing it tonight at a local meet up. I love the 3d effect, the artwork is pretty incredible. My dads favorite game, he always would play it with me on the 2600. As of now I kind of have a cardinal rule my vids are between 1980-1989, why I don't know it just worked out that way. Don't get me wrong I think the original Space Invaders / Asteroids from the late 70's are great, and the later games from the 90's had tons of gems some don't consider them classics, but they most certainly are such as Simpsons, Mortal Kombat etc...

I also wanted to stay away from vector / black and white games as they are even tougher for parts etc.. Can you infact place a color monitor inside a space invaders deluxe even though the colors are generated through the plastic overlay screen ? Does it still yield the same results ?

I guess that's why I was so curious as to what year this game was from I wanted to stick with my 1980-1989, however I might just end up breaking my own rule... nothing after 1989 would technically be intact however once I start dipping into pins 1989-1995 are my favs

I saw the instruction somewhere for putting a color monitor in a space invaders. You had to sync it correctly, and you tied the red, green, and blue inputs together and hooked it to the video output of the game.

I have an UR and have never had any problem with it. The vector monitor is fine and parts are available, so I recommend just keeping it original.

An UR what with a vector monitor? No SI ever used a vector but it would probably have been pretty cool.
