I'm curious if a plain SF Rush can be converted to a SF Rush 2049 of some flavor. Is it a hard drive, PIC, and ROM change like it is to go to the Rock, or were there more hardware changes?
Thanks!

It's totally different hardware, mobo, etc... though it's probably possible to convert if you have enough of the guts (I don't know whether steering wheel, pedals, shifter, etc are compatible). IIRC at CAX they have a set of 2049 TEs in the old style cab (they may be prototypes).

Gas, brake and steering pots are all the same. The feedback motors are different though. I think the Rush motor is 20VDC and the 2049 motor is 90VDC.
And as mentioned above the boards are totally different.
Rush the rock uses a 90volt dc motor
Any idea why Rush used 20V and Rock used 90V? Do they both work the same? I'm getting a Rush soon and planning to convert to Rock.
as for why they changed motors, probably had to do with what midway/rest of the industry designed/used. Feedback in hard drivin series and rush is much better than crusin and rush 2049.
