Is jammaboards.com still in business? Any way to get in touch with them?

Been having a similar issue. For some reason they are not responding to my inquiries and I need this stuff fairly quick as it's for a customer restore. I guess in the future I will need to look elsewhere for my products. Maybe Paradise Arcade. I do love getting Hawaiian candy. :)

Shipping is sometimes extremely slow and communications are poor. But you will eventually get your stuff.

That is no way to run a business and that kind of service should not be rewarded with your money. I am mad at Amazon right now because the diapers I ordered 3 days ago haven't shipped yet, if they took 2 months to send them I wouldn't ever consider ordering anything from them ever again.

When I buy something from someone on a messageboard or facebook I understand that it might take them a week or even 2 weeks to get it in the mail, but if I buy something from a professional looking website I expect it to be on the way within a couple of days.

Just to give everyone an update. I got an update from Tim. He advised that he has a business partner who helps out with everything but he has been out of town which delayed the orders. It's difficult for him to keep up with everything as he is currently dealing with chemo treatments.

I do want to say that he made everything right and shipped everything out today. Dealing with chemo treatments are by no means an easy thing to deal with and at the same time run a business so I really appreciate him getting back to me.

My heart goes out to him but it's still no excuse. AT THE VERY LEAST set up an auto-reply that explains what's going on and general ETA. Then this thread wouldn't exist.

I **finally** received my shipment Monday and it was well packaged and good quality merch. However, I do not plan on ever ordering from this guy again as tracking down things I paid for is not how I choose to do business.

I wasn't defending the business, just relaying on my experience and that of many others.

Yeah, same thing happened to me as well on the same item. I ordered from them in the beginning of February. Three weeks later I emailed them looking to see what the delay was. I never got a response, and like 3 or 4 days later I got an email saying it had been shipped. It was definitely over a month from start to finish to receive the item.

I have ordered from them several times - sometimes it's quick and sometimes it's not, but I have always received it. I try to remind myself that an arcade parts business is almost always a side gig... With a few exceptions... If you want very hard to come by stuff the repair antiques, you need to be patient with mom and pop stores... They are running the business in their spare time and they are not going to jeopardize the day job or their family for your joystick or jamma harness. You can always vote with your feet if you don't like the product/service, but when you berate the business, you run the risk of making the side business not worth it to the vender... And they shut their doors... Stuff is already too hard to find... People don't create these side businesses because there is a lot of money in it - most likely it started as a hobby... Kill the buzz and you kill your sources for parts... At least that is my long-view perspective... I have not found similar sites that offer the prices or quality as jamma boards.... Every one wants quality, cheap and fast, but you can't have all three - pick two:)

If it wasnt for this tread I would have disputed the order weeks ago. How do you expect most to react with no communication from the seller? I have shopped with a few other sites in this field before and I have never encountered such a delay. I will be be more patient since I'm in no major rush and people seem to be receiving there orders.

I get the frustration... I'm used to getting most shipments about a week after placing an order from most businesses - just don't think these places are "most businesses". Given that someone on here who knows the owner and shared that he is going through cancer treatment and short handed I would expect folks to lighten up some. Obviously he is a one man band of sorts which explains (perhaps) why response times and communication are lacking based on the up and down nature of sales....

Good to hear orders coming In. Hope his chemo is going good and making progress. And hopefully next vacation the partner finds a a fill in...
Still would like to get a neo to jamma harness

You know what... if you run a business, even if it's a side business, you need to communicate. You're dealing with people's money. I don't care what situation you're in. If you can't handle it, shut it down for awhile. Email ALL your outstanding orders and explain the situation. Set up an auto-reply and explain it. Tie up your loose ends and take care of your personal business. I'm fine with stuff taking forever as long as I know what's going on and a ballpark ETA. Anything short of that is fucking ridiculous. Tired of hearing the sickness excuse.

He doesn't have to do anything, that's the beauty of owning your own business... His call on how much "service" he will provide.... Bob Roberts disappears from time to time and there are times when some people get his stuff fast and others don't... Not sure how this is diff?

Because for BR I can count the number of times on a few fingers. And when BR does it, he has a prominent notice on his website telling people and then they can make their own call. In other cases he puts a notice up saying that he's closed and not taking new orders.

I'd like to hear of some frequent examples of when BR takes 4+ weeks to ship without telling the purchaser. Got any? If you do those are rare and freakish events.

My guess is that BR ships almost 100% of his orders within 2 days. BR is known for almost instant shipping almost all of the time, Jammaboards isn't even in the same ballpark. Go search here for jammaboards threads over the last 5 years and check out the posts. Now go check out the posts from BR customers and compare the two.

Last post I saw on bob Roberts was "hey, is he still in business?" His health has failed a few times... I don't really care though (about him being down from his site - I do care about his health). If he ever closes his door the hobby will be worse for it. I don't order from him because his website and order method is too much work. I would rather pay more to order online and use pay pal. Again - nothing against him, but he has made some decisions on what he is willing to do as far as service, but he is given the a pass because he has stuff and info that you can't get elsewhere... I'm just tired of the bashing and berating for someone who in the end is making a strong contribution to the hobby despite service issues. I'm not saying it's good business. Just cut a one man band some slack....

Yes, you're right. If you don't care about your reputation, making money, or growing your business, by all means run it how you want. I forgot about this point because my mind doesn't work like that. Thankfully we have threads like these to warn others to stay away from businesses like this.

I didn't say it was a good way to run a business... But trying to shame someone into running it the way you expect isn't the right way to go about it either. Personally, I don't think the way Bob Roberts runs his business is a good way to run a business, but he still provides an invaluable service, and I am not going to rant about it in order to try to influence him to change... Granted, I have only placed about a half dozen orders with JammaBoards but I have always received what I ordered in about week, with one exception recently where it took closer to a month, and the quality has always been high. My only point really is that the good this guy does for the hobby far outweighs the bad and that folks need to relax some on all the negative... So I will get off my soap box now and let the fray continue...
