I was wondering through my box of old classic games and I came across the original Legend Of Zelda from the NES. It was a gold cartridge and I was wondering, does anyone know if its worth something?

No not really. Zelda is one of the most common games around. You might get a few extra bucks for it if the battery still works (doubtful).

It was rereleased in a grey cartridge along with Zelda II, Punchout, and Metroid (i think those were the games-- Zelda II grey also) as a "best seller/classic" rerelease. Honestly, I would imagine that the grey version might be worth more (with box and manual of course) since I don't think that as many were sold as the gold version.

I am wondering though, why is this in the repair and help section? This should be "off topic" due to the fact that it's not really arcade related, nor is it repair related (unless you wanted info on replacing the battery or something).

Back when I sold Nes carts on ebay, I sold both gold and grey ones, there didn't seem to be any difference in pricing between them, but things might have changed since then?

I don't actually know how many of the grey ones were made/sold, nor do I know the numbers on the gold ones, but I do know that I've never seen the grey ones personally, and I've seen tons of the gold ones... So maybe basing prices on *my* comments isn't the best thing to do :D

At one point I had 9 Zelda carts. 7 Gold ones and 2 grey ones. I am not sure if that is any indicator of how common/uncommon they are though.
