I have a 6-slot MVS on a 19" monitor. I do not recognise the chasis.

Started it up for the first time in a few weeks and the picture is overly bright. It will adjust on the flyback but as the picture was fine before I am worried that somwthing is about to go flooey.

If possible I was to avoid toasting the board beyond repair.

Is it worth doing any premptive repair??

does the brightness or focus ever vary on its own? like the machine adjusts those itself randomly? lol

if so, it probably means your flyback is going out. had one on a K7500 do that. I tell you, after changing the flyback out, that monitor looks like new again.

take pictures of the chassis, people here most likely can tell you what model it is if you're unable to ID it yourself.

I figure leave the machine off until you fix it/get it fixed, mainly cause if it's a K7000 (which I know from personal experience) if the flyback fails entirely it starts blowing up all kinds of other components. you're talking the difference of about $28 and about $50, permitting how much stuff you have to change out in that case.

but figure out what it is first, otherwise you won't know what replacement parts to get, obviously. :) good luck
