Is it Possible to Rebuild a World Cup Soccer 94 Soccer Ball Gear Box?
Hello fellow KLOV'ers I just recently got a WCS 94 that is in pretty good shape but after playing about 20 games the soccer ball stopped spinning, I could hear the motor humming but no spin on the ball. After taking the ball motor assembly out and looking at the pinion gear attached to the motor I notice that it was pretty much stripped. After further investigation into the gear box I notice that one of spur gears (the one that touches the pinion gear on the motor) was kind of worn down. Now I understood why the ball stopped spinning, the spur gear was no longer touching the pinion gear which is attached to the motor. I looked online and I can buy the full assembly (motor and gear box) for about $80 shipped which is fine but it seems like kind of a waste if the gear box gears and the motor pinion gear can be replaced for less. So I guess my questions are, has anybody else with a WCS 94 had this problem and were you able to purchase the gear set for the gear box and the pinion gear for the motor and if so where did you get them and what are their part numbers? I've looked at a bunch of online pinball part places and just keep seeing the full assembly for sale, no gears for a rebuild. Or am i just spinning my wheels and should just say F' it and buy the full assembly?
Thanks in advance for all help and advice.
