Is it posible to do custom sounds on a Bally-35 system?

Does anybody make a board that would allow custom sounds on the golden age Bally machines like Centaur? Has anybody managed to hack such a system? I'm curious.

Not right now. The "GSound" is the closest thing to what you're talking about but it's been "coming soon" for several years. I know that it's supposed to be used for the Lost Vegas project but I'm not sure what's happening with that.

I've been kicking around the idea of designing a microcontroller based sound board but it won't be a drop-in to replace original sounds.

That product sounds awesome. I wish they'd get it going, or someone else would pick up the project. I imagine they could sell a lot more of these than the LED displays and other items. It would make games really fun to program and customize.

If you decide to do something, I'd be happy to help in any way I can.
