Its dry. Collectors won't sell due to low market prices, average Joe already sold off any games they had over the last few years due to the bad economy. At least thats my take on it. I've bought a few, but its certainly not been the plethora it was a few years back.

I've been running dry too, but I still occasionally hit a good spot. I mean I got a fully working tapper for $450, a shufflebowl (not working) for $150,a Monte Carlo (not working) for free, all in the last 3 months or so. I do list some stuff for sale but I can't usually get a bite on CL, and eBayos drying up because it's more of a store than an auction site.

The market has definitely dried up here in Florida... I feel fortunate that I got the games when I did and don't want to get rid of anything, as it would be difficult to replace any of it.

I think that there are even less games coming up for sale on the for sale forums on KLOV.

Yes, it's kind of dry. But within the last couple of months I've come across a lot of deals I've passed on and one I took advantage of, b/c it was a grail. Most people are hanging on to their games b/c they don't want to let them go for fire-sale prices, and that's about all people are willing to pay right now.

They still pop up here fairly often but it does seem like the go faster than they used to. Especially the pins.

Yup, it's definitely been dry around these parts lately, but I guess it depends on what you're looking for.

As a seller in recent months, it's been tough to sell. Maybe it's because the games I was offering, but...

- I let a 4-slot MVS with a restored control panel and 4 carts (MS, MS4, SSII, Baseball Stars Pro) go for $350.

- I couldn't sell Willow in a solid HS-1 cab at $200. The cab had a fully serviced monitor and the PCB alone is worth $120 or so. I ended up dealing it in a trade.

- I tried to sell my nice Double Dragon cab with a Multi-Taito 10-1 PCB recently for $400 and got nothing. The PCBs alone usually go for $180-200 shipped. It's my money pit cab so I've decided to keep it for now.

I haven't been around long enough (only 3 years) to know if this is a usual trend in selling and lack of games out there. Though, I remember I was still buying/selling games during previous holiday seasons.

As a buyer I've seen more games than ever for sale around here lately. Maybe it's just this rural little area of VA but I've been having more deals than I know what to do with.

As far as Craigslist goes, it seems to me that games are more likely to 'turn up' during spring-summer-fall. Folks are trying to get that old arcade game out of their garage, spring cleaning, and making room to park their cars over winter. By this time of year, most folks don't want to mess with them until next year. Just my take...

I thought that parting games was officially banned by the local overlords..

I think it has dried up a bit as well. A few years back, you could go to Ebay and get a great deal on lots of boards. Now, the Ebay ads are way way over priced, with everyone trying to make big bucks off someone desperate. Also, you don't see great condition cabs anymore -- collector quality original cabs are nowhere to be found. All you see anymore are trashed cabs on craigslist, or restored cabs on ebay using "generally" cheaper parts and sideart. As a collector, I don't mind fixing up a cab. But, if I were in the business of trying to make a profit -- no way. The side art costs way too much, and most cabs are missing so many parts that you'd be lucky to break even on a restored cab. Now, put a 60 in 1 in there, charge $1500 for the privilege, and you may get some buyers. Kind of a joke really, considering you can get a 60 in 1 for $75. Perhaps like others have said, people aren't offering the good stuff for sale because of the bad economy. How long can they hold out?

I concur. Arc, you must be passing a kidney stone right now, or something...

There's still plenty in Phoenix. Xyla has had me buy 3 games super cheap and store them at my place just in the past few weeks... An Alcon, a Gyruss, and just tonight - a nonworking but complete Rip Off.
