Is it legal in Michigan

In my state of Illinois I had heard that if they were newer slots they could only be Japanese slots for some reason.

Pachislos are skill slots and therefore sometimes aren't illegal under anti-gambling laws because they aren't "random". Apparently a really skilled person can win every time by pushing the button and stopping it perfectly.

But some states still outlaw pachislo's, too (like Washington state). Texas allows the sale of pachislo's, and limits the sales of others to specific lcense holders...

It's crazy how here in PA we can only have pre 1941 slots! I see way newer ones than that on craigslist for sale.

Only a few states actually enforce these stupid laws (ie. NJ and WA). In most states LE don't even know they are illegal. As long as your not putting one in a public establishment, or having "Casino Night" at your house and running them as "pay to play" for your guests, you will most likely never run into an issue. I have a few in my gameroom, and guests like to play them when they come over, but otherwise they basically collect dust. They are a cool addition to any gameroom though. (Not the "Skill Stops" though, they are just plain annoying.)

Disclaimer: I am not trying to start a legal bitch off, just stating how it is in MOST cases. If you are afraid of breaking the law, don't buy a slot. If you have common sense, which many lack, you will be fine.

Michigan has a 25 yr old or older law for collecting and/ or possession! Indiana no possession but you can transport between state lines.

Washington state is also 25 yrs and older. I converted mine to play with tokens. Took some time to find the right tokens, but working good now.
Hopefully using tokens keeps me out of trouble!

Actually that's not correct. Pa. has been a 25 year state for a few years.

"(c) Antique slot machines.--
(1) A slot machine shall be established as an antique
slot machine if the defendant shows by a preponderance of the
evidence that it was manufactured at least 25 years before
the current year and that it was not used or attempted to be
used for any unlawful purposes. Notwithstanding subsection
(b), no antique slot machine seized from any defendant shall
be destroyed or otherwise altered until the defendant is
given an opportunity to establish that the slot machine is an
antique slot machine. After a final court determination that
the slot machine is an antique slot machine, the slot machine
shall be returned pursuant to the provisions of law providing
for the return of property; otherwise, the slot machine shall
be destroyed.
(2) It is the purpose of this subsection to protect the
collection and restoration of antique slot machines not
presently utilized for gambling purposes."

I have bought and sold newer ones with no issues. If I were to get more involved I would just contact the department of Justice and get a certificate of sales or whatever it is called. This way if the police just happened to be in the neighborhood and saw numerous machines being worked on or what not. My friend sells a lot of slots and told me this. :)
