Has Everyone Else Gone Nuts For Pinball? I only collect vids and play pins from time to time with maybe one visiting the arcade for a shot stint. It seems like all of Florida is abandoning collecting arcades like they use to and are shifting to pins. I am just curious if it is like this everywhere. I have seen die hard vid collectors selling most of their games to support pinball purchases.

I'm not against pins or anything it's just that people seem to make this transition and it seems like less and less are filling the arcade game collecting shoes. There are plenty more games to buy now I just can't afford to keep up with all the available cool classics. I am just curious because klov is still strong on vids so maybe it is just Florida?

I hope this is true and the trend continues. Give up on the video games and get pins everyone. Send all your unwanted vids my way.

Just a guess...

There is like only one company left that makes Pinballs (supply/demand). They look great in a bar or rec room, can't be well emulated and haven't been passed-up by Xbox / Playstation technology. Old games seem very simple and dull to a lot of younger people but Pins, especially from the last 25 years, are cool. Prob not money makers anymore (or there would be a slew of companies making them) but they look great in a room!

I got bit by the pinball bug and vids got put on the back burner. However, the thrill wears off quickly with each table. I got bored and started selling machines. I'm all but out of pins now, back to vids. Better replay value for the money.

I'm gonna have to third this. Give me a Donkey Kong and everything else I can haul down the stairs!

BTW: I'm in GA so send some of those vids up this way!

Personally, I am not a pinball fan at all.
Their way too expensive and it seems that they have way too much maintenance. Once I restore an arcade an occasional wipe down due to dust and I.m good. Not really looking for something where I would have to replace bumpers and re-paint playfields.
I'll stick with the video arcade side. :)

Been a vid guy all my life, and just picked up my first pin a few months ago.

I'd never totally abandon video games...but I couldn't be happier to have both.
