Is it just me? Maybe I only played machines that weren't properly maintained or set up etc. It always seemed sluggish and weak.....

no machine should be sluggish and weak.. then it's in need of a shopjob/rebuild/..

gorgar is a bit boring, not a lot of fast action on the playfield, but there are some shots you have to learn to make and the increasing heartbeat sound makes it interesting

Shouldn't be sluggish, you need good flippers to make the Snake Pit magnet shot at the top. I like it, but always keep its era in mind when playing it. Its kind of an old, open style playfield with a couple shots you make over and over.

Wouldn't mind having one someday. Even though its not as frantic as newer games, I'd still play it and the art is killer.

I don't know if I would say it's overrated but I was really disappointed in the game play once I had a chance to restore one. It's a cool game that I'll probably keep for the art more than the game play.

I was absolutely in love with Gorgar when it was released, but when I spent some time revisiting the machine a couple of years ago, the gameplay just didn't do it for me.

However, for the artwork, sound and sentimental value, I'd still love to have one in my collection.

Gorgar is da bomb if you haven't played any newer pins ;)

These old SS games bore me to tears much like EM's do.

So is Gorgar over rated? Well it sure as hell doesn't command shit for money so I'd say absolutely not over rated.

See I love the simple games especially EM'S and early SS games but Gorgar never wowed me. I saw it on a top 100 list during an early morning "dogs needed a 4:39AM back yard visit

....break. Surf the web while waiting session.". (premature send, sorry!) I was a little shocked it was so well liked.

It did have some cool features for its time besides being the first talking game. It had 2 different ways to earn a special, and one of them was a moving shot which made it tough and fun to hit.

Setup properly with rebuilt flippers and drop targets the game will beat you more than you beat it.

I agree that it shouldn't be sluggish. I had played Agee over the years never found a strong maintained machine. I figured they were tough to maintain properly...,
