Is Double Dragon the most flawed game ever?

By the way, I've had a handful of guys PM me already in response to this thread to tell me to just ignore you

Good idea.

because you're someone who has nothing good to contribute

Not only is that demonstrably false, but I wonder if this is a case of glass house dwellers throwing stones (its hard to say since your "handful of guys" wish to remain anonymous). However, since it seems that you have been elected as their spokesman, maybe you can point out some of their "good contributions", as well as some of your own.

Sad FACT:

I've never played Double Dragon... not a port nor the real thing.

I turned 16 right about then and life took a serious turn to "cars/car stereos and chicks"... period. The rest went out the door pretty much instantly.

Don't you have a MAME machine and/or have MAME on your PC? It is a fun game, especially in 2-player mode.

Haa haa, I was 12 in '87 so I wasn't there yet. Although I have to say that I was still in the arcades once I had a car, more so on fact.

Not I... 16 hit and I was doing things like partying up in the mountains, at the beach, etc... street drags... etc... then it was popular to bump the tunes and cruise different places INCLUDING arcades... but you didn't go inside... you cruised on by blaring the NWA, Backstreet Boys (yes... I admit it!), etc... to attract the attention of chicks...

Those were the days...

I was 4 in 1987. :D

Though, my older brothers were 9 and 11 so I would always be the little guy tagging along. They were nice enough to spot me a few quarters every time we'd go to the arcade. I definitely remember playing Double Dragon with my older brother. It was more of me following his lead than anything else.

Were the Backstreet Boys even around during that time? I thought they hit in the early 90s?

Good memories.

Sorry... New Kids On The Block... I never really got in to the Backstreet Boys as I'd already dropped the whole "car stereo" scene by about 1990-1991...

For a few years it was all about "bass"...

:D

Haha, I thought that was the case. I actually looked them up on Wikipedia to get their timeframe and saw this. NKOTBSB Tour starting soon! Oh Oh Oh Oh Oh. Oh Oh Oh Oh.

Well, the town I grew up in, and have moved back to had a population of 1500 people, so there really wasn't many people to hang out with. We had dirt bikes and rode on trails, but for the most part you would have to drive in your car some distance to any kind of civilization.

Here is the main "drag" in google maps street view.

Hasn't changed much since, except those buildings used to have a general store with penny candy (like out of little house on the prairie) and the 4th building on the left had a video store with a pool table and a few arcade games in the back. I remember Gladiator, Crystal Castles, VS Castlevania and a few others.

All of his posts are argumentative in nature, he just starts shit to get a rise out of folks. His arguments are rarely sound and completely based on his own bias. I kinda figured this after tell Lyons and I there were never any dedicated PC-10's.

That was the same guy? LOL damn. Now I get it.

I submit my most flawed game ever, and it pales in the light that is Trio the punch.

How close do you think Rob Zombie was to offing himself after this game.

The music was the only thing good about that game. Kicked ass. I was so dissapointed in the Panasonic 3DO system. A joke at best. I think I payed like $500- $600 for it? Geez

No no, you're being a hater and don't know how to argue and blah blah fucking blah. LOL

BTW, anybody got a picture with a Double Dragon filling the entire screen? I don't even know if it CAN in a dedicated cabinet.

Yes it can. I've gotten mine to fill up.
The other thing you can do on that K7000 (or many monitors) is adjust the width cap C38 to move your range up or down. (the coil only adjusts w/in a range)

Here's the link with more info.

Wait, am I contributing something?

The 3DO had a few good games like Road Rash, Starblade (fantastic conversion for the time) and Gex.

Star Control 2!

Also Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Samurai Shodown, Brain Dead 13, and a ton of other great games!

Very good point, how could I forget about Samurai Showdown! I need to pull mine out.
