Is coinopexpress.com safe? Wire transfers only for payment?

I've seen old threads, here even, vouching for their quality. But I just want to make sure they're still on the up and up. They don't take any payment other than wire transfer which is something that's really not protected.

Please let me know. Thanks.

They're not worth your time. They'll eventually (3-4 months later) send you your money back after not finding whatever it is you ordered. They don't hold stock, they just list things they think they can get hands on, and try to find them after an order is placed. I know a dozen or so people that have tried, no one's managed to actually get anything.

I'm referring to cabs, fwiw.

Haven't used them in 10+ years, so I can't vouch for what they are now, but even back then they required wire transfer. Bought a Naomi setup as I recall. Gd-rom/dimm, system, jvs adapter, etc ... I didn't have any issues at the time.

I actually went there maybe 15-20 years ago. They were in Hong Kong. I don't know about now, but at the time it was just a small office and didn't really have too much there. When you place an order or ask for something, they will try and find it from their sources. I remember that the people there weren't very friendly.

It's only safe for the sellers as they are guaranteed to get your $$.

Well, when you are selling stuff you don't actually have, you do have to be a little prickly.

Lol - I remember there were sellers in Japan back in the early / mid 2000's that had a similar selling model.

You would reach out and ask if they had a particular PC Engine or Sega Mega Drive system. They would send their "scouts" out to the various game shops in the city. I'm guessing they had no stock on hand, so they just hit up game shops and thrift shops to fulfill your order.

Just to clarify things - they're based in Hong Kong and are legit. They're essentially the same business as arcadespareparts.com and channelbeat.com, several people who I know of have bought parts and even $3000 upgrade kits for Pump It Up and everything was fine. Due to their location shipping is prohibitively expensive unless you end up buying enough items or splitting the order with others to make it worth it.

These sellers still exist on eBay. You'll find 3-5 of them with pics of the same item from JP Mercari and/or YAJ with various (higher) prices.

Ok, I want to believe you but shipping for a cab was only 350 bucks. All of this seems too good to be true. Combine that with the only way to pay being a bank transfer it all feels very suspicious. Not saying they can't be good. I've seen possible reviews from people on this own site. But to be fair it was also a while ago and also when they accepted other forms of payment.
