Is anyone else planning on sitting this next console generation out?

I'm a sucker and almost always end up buying all the "mainstream" consoles. I assumed I'd only have the Wii from this current generation but surprise surprise, I now have all three. I assume I'll be the same way next generation, but probably at an even slower rate. I'm not waiting 10 hours in line for the WiiU like I did the Wii.

I want the Vita, don't care about the WiiU yet... but then I do more gaming on the bus than at home.

Yes, I will be getting the next gen consoles (and handhelds). PS4, wii u, and the vita (already have a 3ds). I'm in no rush to buy, but I definitely will when the time comes around.

I think we're still a few years from the real next generation (ie PS4 and new Xbox).. the new Wii looks interesting but not enough to buy, just like the original Wii imo (I have friends who love it, but the games just don't appeal to me the way Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty do). Out of the gate the Wii was already almost a generation behind the other consoles so it makes more sense that it's getting an update.. besides that it's mostly just the portables that are seeing new releases

I think the PC keeps creeping up to the mainstream, eventually it'll replace consoles entirely but there's at least one more generation of mainstream console gaming, I think they need to wait a bit to make the technology really count though and the current systems are still pretty adequate.. it'll probably be 2014/15 before most people adopt a new system (give a year after release for a price drop and good titles to start rolling out), I think by then I'll be ready

I have a wii and a xbox 360 and it's a stuggle to find time to play them.

My console history:

Atari - 1977-1983
NES - 1990-91
Sega Genesis 1991-93
Playstation 2 (don't remember the dates but I only played it once, machine was a gift)
xbox 360 (2009-present)
wii (2010-present)

Right now I think there are just too many systems and games, but clearly the business is pretty lucrative.

Normally I tend to skip around, but with working in the retail video game world, I'll probably pick up one of the next home consoles that come out, even if I don't think I'll play it much (due to time constraints, not the quality of the games or system)

Consoles I've owned, or had roommates that owned them:
Atari 2600
NES
SNES (not mine)
N64
Wii
Dreamcast (not mine)
PS1 (not mine)
PS2
Xbox
Xbox 360

My console history in order of purchase. I still own them all (not my original consoles, but bought again later in life)

NES
Genesis
Saturn
PS1
PS2
X-box
Gamecube
Wii
PS3
N64
SNES

Why not, I'll play the console game...
No idea anymore exactly what order I bought them in, but a few definitely were not bought in release order

Odyssey 300
Atari VCS
Atari 5200
Sega Master System
NES
Sega Genesis
PS1
N64
Game Cube
Xbox
Xbox 360

And of course handhelds,

Game Boy
GBA
NDS (lite)

Still have all of them except the Odyssey 300 and SMS, and I would still have those too, but somewhere along the line I lost them. Didn't sell them, didn't give them away, didn't throw them away, they just disappeared. :(

Oh and yeah, I'm definitely taking a wait and see approach to the next gen consoles, there's just too much good stuff out there for the current and older consoles that I haven't played yet... Unless there is something that is a must have, I'll probably pass.
