Is anyone else planning on sitting this next console generation out?

I have a 3ds and I have been giving it a lot of use; I really enjoy it so far.
Having watched E3, none of the other new consoles interest me. I own a Wii and it gets used mainly as a Netflix hub. My 360 barely gets played, recently it gives me headaces after an hour of play. I would rather buy an JAMMA arcade board instead of something for one of my current gen systems. Am I alone in feeling meh about this next gen?

I sat out this current one but I have to say I will probably pick up the new PSVITA. The PSP is the last thing I bought and it still gets used from time to time. I kinda dig the new one plus I would probably buy it just for the Hot Shots Golf and Tiger Woods games. I know some will think Im weird for that but those games are my cup of tea.

i feel like you cant skip it anymore like you could.. How long has 360 and ps3 been out since the first xbox and ps2.. compare that to like nintendo 64 and dreamcast and ps1.. they came out like every other year back in the day and I can almost bet this new generation is gonna be at minimal 10 years.

guess my timing was off, time flies when your having fun and thats all i did as a kid hahah

but like I said before, I think its gonna be this generation (next one) for a LONG time compared to how it was.

**it was 4 years from xbox1 to xbox 360, its already 6 years from 360 and there saying a couple more years.. this is what I meant..

Oh - I was thinking further back like in the 8 and 16 bit eras. I suppose that's showing my age :p

I'm not in a big rush. If the price is right I would but I've only bought "current/next gen" consoles if I needed them for some other reason besides gaming. PS2 for DVDs, PS3 for upscale DVD and BD.

I don't see what I'll get out of a new console.
I use my PC for FPS and RPG, the Wii for more mellow platformer/social games, the 3DS for portability, and have a standalone BD player.

Yep, I'm sitting this next wave out. My Ps3 & Wii will have to do.

I've been spending more and more time on my classic consoles & arcade than anything new.

Once I saw the Wii U controller, I knew they had gone to far from the standard joystick for me to enjoy anymore.

I think the Wii u looks sweet but the games will end up sucking for a few months so your better off waiting for a price break or better games. I have a Kinect and im still waiting for something better to do with it.
Im waiting to get a 3ds when OOT and the new Mario comes out. Its disapointing that launch titles are starting to suck.

Did Microsoft or Sony announce a new console?

Yep, exactly how I see it, for me my 360 and Wii will have to do. It is more than okay, I need to get caught up on all of the games I've missed over the years for this generation. I couldn't pay $60 a game, now prices should be a lot less. I saw a new copy of Bioshock2 for $10 new the other day. Much better.

I really can't predict how this next generation will turn out. I still think most games for the 360 look photo realistic at times. Where will they go from here?

The last consoles I've bought were a GBA and a PS2. I just can't justify buying a new system every couple of years just to play a handful of games I like on it. I don't see why gaming companies don't come out with a super versatile system that you can upgrade when the new technology comes out. I know that's a tall order, but I think it could be done. I also know companies do this to make more money, but to me it's getting out of control.

I honestly don't know when I will buy another console, but the WiiU doesn't really impress me. I see the surfboard controller more of a novelty than anything. And the fact that you can't use it as a portable gaming system despite it looking otherwise is extremely weak.

Isn't that called a PC? :D

lol yea thats a pc..

whats nuts is there are some games that need an insane pc to run, a pc that no console comes close to. metro2033 is an example of that game. For the video cards i need there $500 a piece, and i need 2 to run the game at max.
