Is an Extra Bases monitor compatible with Boot Hill?

Quick question: Does anyone know if a color monitor from a Midway Extra Bases game will be compatible with a Midway Boot Hill, which is black and white?

I guess in theory as long as they're both composite input it should work regardless of color, but I thought I'd throw the question out there.

I was wondering about that, although KLOV has it listed as a standard color and has several MAME (I assume) screen shots of it that are color also.

Rule #1....don't believe everything you read on KLOV:).

The Extra Bases you and Aaron are talking about has a black & white monitor. I can clearly see the Motorola M series in Aaron's pictures. Now, I'm not sure what size it is.....M-5000 = 19".......M-7000 = 23". I'd have to check a manual.

KLOV is often wrong, this is one reason we have asked that it be modified to be a Wiki instead of static pages...

The EB manual lists the monitor as a black and white 23" model.

BTW, the color pics could be from color overlays on the monitor or possibly modifications made to the code to make it look better when run in MAME.

I'll try to remember to change it when I get home. Does it use overlays?

The big thing I guess is does Extra Bases have a composite input? Because I'm pretty sure that's what Boot Hill needs, which is the game I'd be putting that monitor into.

All black & white monitors are interchangeable (that I've seen, anyway).....Motorola M series, Motorola XM series, Wells-Gardner V1000 series, Tec TM series.....The only differences of note: tube size....19" vs. 23", and some have a built in 5VDC power supply to supply external 5VDC...some do not. I've never seen a game board use this external 5VDC supply, but I'm sure some of the early 70's games might.

If Boot Hill uses a 23".....this one will drop right in.
