Dude is selling a Panthera, don't know its condition. He wants 250 for it. Tell me is it worth my time to drive for 2 hours to go look at this thing, and I don't have a truck!

Well, what kinda condition does he say it's in? He send you any pictures of it?
If it's working, and cosmetically in good shape, then I'd go for it myself.

Looks like a normal gottlieb drop target type of playfield, pretty racy artwork all around.
Also seems to be one of those games where they went solid state for the controls, but kept with a very EM layout to the playfied.

Edit: It IS on the top-300 IPDB list. But just barely, it IS #300

he is sending me pictures now, so I will look at them first. Oh and it is non working wont boot

lol yeah I called as well, was the first person fyi (i asked him)
called him during the week but the sf2 isn't working
since he's telling me he has to hold 2 wires together then it will light up
also told me that the panthera needs new rubbers and acts finicky sometimes

On another note I missed a DKjr that was 100 bucks and in Excellent condition :(

I owned a Panthera for over a year and didn't like it. I got it for 300 working perfect. Had PF wear on the chick in the center. Sold it to help fund my TSPP. Don't regret it. I've found I'm just not into older games w/ no ramps and no multiball.

Dont waste your time. Some of the Gottlieb system 80 pins were really awesome, this was not one of them.
Not working is not too big a deal, system 80's are easy to work on.
If its not mint I wouldnt even pay $100. Its a tough pin to dump when you are sick of it.

I have to agree with you no multi or ramps and rails makes it boring as hell...I think I will pass.

boring, I would pay $100 not working myself if I had to drive that distance...but if you like it more power! Good luck!

My favorite experience w/ owning that game was selling it. Bought via word of mouth. A friend knew I collected and had a friend who was selling. Sold it for more that triple the price I paid on ebay during Christmas time. Helped fund over 1/4 of the NIB TSPP price. Hope you find one you like.
