I propose this to be a "sticky" because it seems like I discover more and more of these every week.

There are a ton of actual classic arcade game ports on the iphone but there are also plenty of games that are classic in either spirit or in being pretty much direct rip-offs of classic arcade gameplay. Feel free to add any that you have discovered.

Actual Classics

1. Missle Command
2. Pac-Mania
3. Dragon's Lair
4. Dragon's Lair 2
5. Splatterhouse
6. Cobra Commander
7. Cameltry
8. Arkanoid
9. Qbert
10. Space Ace
11. Paperboy
12. Tapper

Modern takes on classics

1. Lunar Module 3D (3D version of Lunar Lander. Awesome and addicting)
2. Westbang (Bank Panic)
3. Star Wars Trench Run
4. Pac'n-jump (Doodle Jump with Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Rally-X & Galaga theme. Great)

I have the Atari Greatest Hits for iPhone
It has games like...
Black Widow
Tempest
Centipede
Missile Command
Crystal Castles
Gravitar
Liberator
Lunar Lander
Major Havoc
Millipede
Pong
Red Baron
Space Duel
Super Breakout
Warloards
Asteroids
Asteroids Deluxe
Battlezone

There is also a modern version of Galaga. Like 30th anniversary or something like that.

Yeah that app is pretty damn kick ass, it shows the actual cabinets for each game

StarFortress (Star Castle)
Space Patrol (moon patrol)
Touch Lander (lunar lander)
Chopper (Choplifter)
roids79 (Asteroids)
The Simpsons
LightBike2 (Tron light cycles really well done )

Interesting Arcade like titles
Bit Trip Beat
Smasheroid
Pokey Player

Yeah I downloaded it. It said it was free, but then i think it wanted me to pay for each time I played the game? What a rip off!

Bump for my new iPhone 4S! Retro Pinball is pretty sweet and free. It comes with 3 tables to play. Great to kill 10-15 minutes- the kids like it too.

Retro Pinball is awesome. Its a direct port of some ol dos pin tables that were released under several names including Epic Pinball, from Epic Megagames who now make things like Unreal Tournament and Gears of War. Lol.

Super Android was the best of the bunch but wish they had ported Enigma. Playfield features completely blank area but things appear randomly and in random positions above an oldschool plasma background. :)

when i'm bored and waiting for something i have these apps:

Tapper
Namco Portal
Ms. Pacman
Galaga 30th collection

Non Classics:
TurboGrafx16 game box
The Simpsons Arcade
Capcom Arcade
Tekken Bowl

BTW these are all the free/lite versions for those like me who would rather not pay for an app.

Is Vector Tanks still available? I bought it a long time ago and it's an awesome update of Battlezone.

Yes it's available in the App store. A free and an "EXTREME" version that costs a buck or so.

There are even special iPad versions...yeah, gonna try this now, forgot about it.

It's written by a pretty famous ex-member here....IIRC

Anyone that doesn't have Dragon's Lair really should! For a buck, its so awesome!

It sucks. The move timing is all f'd up and some of them aren't even correct! I was hugely disappointed with it.

On the other hand, they did a great job with Space Ace. it plays nearly perfect like the arcade game.
