Auctions (Other) Iowa Auction 2025

My intention was to go. The weather does not look good, and we will be taking a pass.

same here, was planning on going, but weather has got me thinking about skipping it this time around

Seems like a perfect time to go then! Nobody there means good deals.

I had a friend who thought that about 15 years ago. He headed to the auction in horrible weather on I80. halfway there, a semi lost control in the snow and blocked the interstate for multiple hours, by the time he got to the auction it had just finished.

Some times the early bird gets the worm. Some times the early bird sits in a pickup truck and wastes the entire day trying to get a good deal!!!

:):):)

We left the auction and headed home one weekend. A semi-truck violently swerved lanes and side swiped us. It is amazing that we did not land up in the ditch. He bought the truck from a guy locally in NE and did not change the side decals. We never did find him again. We do not need anything that bad to brave a trip to West Des Moines.

For anyone that went to the Auction, what all was there? I wasn't able to make it this year between family and the weather.

I haven't checked if the guy who usually keeps track of prices sites back up, it was down last I checked and I hadn't found the new link if there is one.

Well, if the IA guy couldn't make it. The Weather Channel had IA looking pretty poor. Here in Lincoln, the roads are a mess just driving across town. I hope that all of those that went make it home safely.

Four of us from KC made the trip, but the overall turn out was light (maybe 40 people).

Ms. Pac-Man $500
Taken Tag $110 or $115
Big Buck Hunter - Didn't sell (missing monitor, bezel, and part of front)
DK Jr.
Midway Classics mini
Another 2-3 other video games

Several pinball playfields
Charlie's Angel
Disco Fever
Diner
7 or so other pinball games

Dough mixer $2,000
Pizza Over $500

Yeah, I tried to go to the hardware store in town today - couldn't get out of my driveway with the 3' drifts. We got this storm AFTER it dumped on Nebraska and Iowa - they had to get it worse than us.

Bless you for going.

We went Friday before the storm and stayed close, so it wasn't a problem. The roads were being plowed when the snow started falling, so I never found the roads, at least where we were, too bad. We did stay to major roads.

As for the auction, I was hoping to see more KLOVers there, so I could say "Hi" in person. Clearly, that affected the number of items for auction. I considered bringing some games, but didn't have anything ready.
