I did not see a thread for this when searching (either that or it is very far down in the pipeline in the searches), but I figured I would introduce myself. Obviously, I am new here. I have been a member of Digital Press since 2004 and got into arcades about 2 or 3 years ago. I was recommended this place for tips on fixing my machines.

I currently have my main machine that somebody converted from a Street Fighter 2: CE to a Tekken 2 ver. B and then I converted it to a ST-V cab. No, I don't own Radiant Silvergun (I seem to get asked that question alot). I have around 15 ST-V games.

I still own my Tekken 2 board. I also just got a Surf Planet board and once I get the joystick issues resolved, that will be fully working.

Somebody had an Indy 500 cab (I think it was that game) that they spray painted black and put Great 1000 Mile Rally into, so I have almost stripped all of those components out (I figured they already messed up the cab, so I might as well convert it anyway). I got that cab mainly for the monitor anyway.

Let's see, I am still slightly new to soldering, but am adjusting very quickly.

I also live in Nevada. I am really into video game collecting, and falling into arcades just felt like a very natural progression for me. I don't like superguns or mame machines since I would rather play the original.

The only exception is that I do want to put a Dreamcast into an empty cab one day just because it would be cheaper than getting a Naomi with all of those games (since I already own the originals on DC anyway)

welcome bud.

I would say, try to keep the for sale stuff in the for sale section
monitor stuff in the monitor section, etc.

that way you won't get hammered (good naturedly for it)

Thanks for the warm welcome dudes.

I don't normally sell too much arcade stuff anymore since I moved from Omaha to Vegas so I tried to get rid of most of my extra stuff.

Yeah, my next project I am slowly making my way towards is a Dreamcast arcade. The way I see it, it is expensive to get a Naomi system and the games I want, but I am already an avid Sega collector and have almost all of the great classics that came out on Naomi on Dreamcast. I already have it planned out, and I think it is going to be a very nice conversion.

Welcome Sir! You need to hook up with KLOVer Drewster. He lives in your town and would be a good guy to learn from.

SO this board is a AWESOME resource. WIthout this place i wouldnt have a clue about how to fix these old games..

You have a very awesome collection there. I have a handful of arcade grails that I am trying to get (unfortunately, living in an apartment is slowing that down right now, but work is going good, so that will probably change in a year), and one of them is Star Wars Trilogy Arcade. Seeing that in your arcade just made me happy, since that and Top Skater are the two I am going to be hunting for really hard once I get my own house.

This is my main cab I have right now:

I have done alot of work to it. You can tell from the front under the cp that there are parts that were not in very good shape when I got it. It was SF2: CE that somebody converted to Tekken 2 ver.B. I could not find a 25 inch monitor when I lived in Omaha for a decent price, so I went to a 19 inch (that picture is still showing the 25 incher in there). The 25 inch seriously went out about a month after owning the cab. I put in new buttons, speakers, volume control, monitor, obviously a new pcb, custom marquee. For my first cab, it is nothing spectacular, but it works very well and have never given me a problem since I put the 19 incher in there. She is my baby and pride and joy of everything video game related that I have. I still want to get some custom side art and a custom cp overlay, but I am in no rush to do those

Welcome to the forums! For future reference (and for any lurkers out there, you know who you are) the correct way to introduce yourself here is to stand up and announce "Hi my name is __(fill in the blank)___, and I'm an addict....." :D

You will find that even if you are in denial and only think of yourself as a collector or a hobbiest, you are an addict and it will blossom in the warm and friendly confines of this forum.

I LOVE THE STV system

Welcome! It's nice to see another JAMMA game fan!

I have an STV also (getting another one soon) and about 8 carts? What do you have in your collection.

I get why they put the board in a Dynamo but if you have any love for having a Capcom dedicated fighter, you can convert that machine easily to take it since the CP is for 6 buttons per side. You can also just use button plugs to plug the bottoms if you want to swap boards and not get confused. You can just bondo that chip under the CP.

You can eventually find a 25" K7000 to put in there as they are pretty common. You just got to keep looking and asking around. Maybe a good Donor cab will do.

The original dedicated STV Titain machines were the Duramold/plastic cabs that just suck. I'm eventually going to convert a Virtua Fighter (yes that big one) to house one of my STV boards.

I wouldn't go as far as saying the plastic Sega STV cabs suck. They are a little cumbersome to move but they have large monitors and big CP's that stick out. Being able to play a game without bumping ass with the guy next to you has always been a plus in my book. ;)

Welcome aboard.

How much room do you have for games? It will be gone very, very soon.

Can't be helped. Just embrace it. And go to CAX this upcoming summer. Trust me.
