International Arcade Museum Library - 501c3 non-profit.

A non-profit arcade library is a much easy goal to accomplish than a full museum. a library is also a much-needed addition for society's benefit. It's also a great first-step towards larger and more ambitious goals.

As such, the International Arcade Museum has licensed (for $1) its name to a new non-profit corporation called the International Arcade Museum Library, Inc. In development for more than five years but not actually incorporated until 09/09/09, the library received its 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity status from the I.R.S. in December of 2009. The library has 5 board members in 4 states who oversee the operations of the non-profit.

As a recognized public charity, donations to the library are tax deductible. Donations of cash, library resources (ie: books and magazines), and actual machines will help us serve the community.

The International Arcade Museum Library, Inc. has already been approved for membership in the American Library Association.

As a full library, we have also been approved as a member of the OCLC, the non-profit library service and research organization dedicated to the public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing information costs. More than 71,000 libraries in 112 countries and territories around the world use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials. Our library's member organization code is: TIAML. The primary inter-library loan system works though OCLC. We are currently working towards adding some of our holdings to the OCLC central database.

While our holdings include a number of books and over 5,000 related magazine issues already, the collection is currently missing several thousand issues published about videogames and pinball machines in the last three decades. We are missing about half the issues of Replay magazine, and countless issues from other publications, especially from publications aimed at general game players.

Please review the list of magazines: http://www.arcade-museum.com/library/library.php to see if there is anything you have that may enhance our holdings.
