Well all know that the arcade owner is Walter Day, but I totally couldn't help thinking this:

Reminds me a lot of:

Sorry - I'm not seeing it. The character personalities are totally different, too.

I will say that Shrek 2 is one of two movies I've been to where people were actually holding their sides at the end from laughing so hard. The other was Team America: World Police. :D

I read a comment that they originally wanted the Wreck It Ralph character to be Donkey Kong. I'm not sure if that comment is accurate, but the character build sure is similar. I think that would have been way cooler, but can also see why Disney would want an original character for licensing/toy sales.

It isn't so much the resemblance, but the charater's profile, one that nobody likes that wrecks everything but ends up the hero.

Ralph's entire mission in the film is to get himself a medal and be recognised as a hero. Shrek has a hero's heart but no such aspirations - he just wants to be left alone.

As to Donkey and Vanellope...nah, just don't see it. Donkey wants to be Shrek's sidekick and faithful steed. Vanellope doesn't see herself playing second fiddle to anyone.

Their size is all I see that's comparable. You're really stretching it with Donkey/Vanellope.

I've always said that it seems like Ralph should've been Donkey Kong, Felix should've been Mario, and Vanellope should've been Peach (or Daisy?). But then it would've been another Mario movie, and therefore not nearly as good.
