My Tempest monitor died during a party last February, and I finally had some time this weekend to pull it out and troubleshoot it. Long story short, there were two problems, both "mechanical":
1. The blue/white wire had pulled away from the neckboard
2. One of the chassis transistor sockets was loose. I had to solder that socket pin directly to the transistor lead to get a 0.5V reading on my DMM.
Needless to say, I'll check all electrical connections first next time. I wasted a lot of time testing the HV, deflection and neck boards in another game.
