I've owned this pin for just shy of 2 weeks, and in my time of doing research on it, I've found out some really cool things about the game.

1. there seems to be some substantial underground following or desire to pick up this game; what made it so special BITD? Please don't tell me it was just the banana flippers! There are articles all over where people had one, sold it, and want one back, or played it all the time as a kid. What made that game stand out so much in 1979? Artwork? Sound effects? I'd love to hear more.

2. I've seen quite a few postings where it's mentioned that alot of the TW pins that people own (mine included) have some pretty significant wear to the playfield. Is this because:

a. TW got alot of play at the time?
b. the playfield components were poor quality for this game?

I'd love to hear more about this game from the perspective of those who remember playing it or seeing it out in the Wild. What's funny is some folks say the game is pretty plain and they didn't hang onto theirs for long, and yet you have others all over the globe looking for one and-or even taking the time to restore one. It makes for some really interesting reading!

I have a project one that I have yet to even start on. Never played the machine personally, got it for another machine, plus cash. Mainly picked it up to learn how to work on pins.

You know what's really weird? You have a Time Warp and you're in VA- Metahugh has one and he's in VA. Mine was owned previously by at least one guy (if not 2) in VA.

Is VA the Time Warp national repository for Time Warp machines??

Well if you think that's weird, this will blow your mind.

I got my TW from Metahugh, lol.

INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you just get it? Did he have more than 1? I thought he still had his?

Mine had parts boxes that came with it, with a guy named "Steve Haden" of Quinton VA on them. I do not know who this person is though.

Gader77 also had "a" Time Warp at some point (he's in MD) and I have no idea if he still has it or where his came from.

Oryk Zinyo also remembers playing a TW at someone's house in the Richmond area too! He told me who he thought it might have been, but since he wasn't sure I will keep that info on the down-lo :D

No I've had it for going on 2 years now. He had another project TW and we were in the middle of a deal and mentioned it to me, so I took it off his hands.

Geez, very nice. Want to come up and troubleshoot mine? *snicker*

With all of the colors on the backglass and the playfield, I'm wondering if this game would be a good candidate for an LED upgrade?

One of the other cool things about this game is, it has those plastic nuts on the top of the screws on the playfield- as is the case with my Williams Sorcerer, if you hit those nuts with black light, they glow. :D

Honestly the machine needs a lot of work and I haven't even began to touch it, and start to fix it up. I need too, seems like the game might be fun.

Mine plays great till the ball goes down the drain and the MPU doesn't tell the ball drain switch to 'reset'. I'm working on that though, hopefully this weekend!

Example playfield shot (not mine) for LED consideration:

The pop bumpers, when lit, appear to be blue already, since the plastic over them is blue.

I put LED's in the pop bumpers and in certain spots behind the backglass. The pop bumper LED's really make them pop and the LED's behind the backglass make some of the colors stand out. The reason I did some LED's behind the backglass was due to flaking of certain colors. If I had kept the regular bulbs in there it would have made the flaking more noticeable, since I used a colored LED the spaces where paint was missing were filled in with color from the LED.

I missed a Time Warp at a garage sale last weekend. Finally made it there at 2PM and was told it sold for $200. I'd be sick if it was nice and I missed it. I probably still would have taken it as a project for 200 but I have to many as is.

That is a really good idea.
