Interesting new Killer Instinct game cheats in MAME

Check these new MAME cheats for Killer Instinct 1 and Killer Instinct 2. They allow you to play many videos and sounds including a few not seen or heard in the games.

Stuff like this:

What the hell?

Thriller Instinct was possibly the original name for the game. there are also 3 different PSA Screens "don't do drugs"

the sounds are great, check out this vid.

cinder also wasn't named cinder (it was meltdown), and there are sounds for "Heatshade" and "Pyrotech" in the original programming.

there's tons of lil easter eggs and hidden screen shots in KI2 as well as a character "Vampire"

I remember reading about a 'vampire' character. One of the programmers said a Vampire character was 'sitting in the code' somewhere. I guess it was just a tease?

I do remember having a Nintendo Power issue where they revealed they were working on the game, and the pic of Cinder had the name Meltdown listed. I also remember getting a video from some Nintendo Club thing, or something I cant remember. It was a vid for Donkey Kong Country, but at the very last minute they show the 'host' of the vid walking into a room that says Do Not Enter, and you can see the guys playing KI and they all get up and yell and force the camera to shut off.

I'm at work so I cant see any of the vids so I'll have to wait until I get home to check this out. KI was probably my favorite arcade game back in the 90s. I still need another KI board.

I have that tape still. But it is all over youtube.

i made sure to watch a little of it just to make sure i wasn't missing anything.

Time to break out the Killer Kuts CD

I love to turn on my KI cab just to hear the dude say "Coming to your home in 1995, only on Nintendo Ultra 64.. Killer Instinct!"

I love that KI3 vid where he is like coming your home in 2012 only on nintendo Wii U HAHA

to bad Microsoft owns Rare, Happ owns Midways stuff, and Nintendo is well Nintendo.

1995 came and went and I was pissed every day of it. N64 was a serious let down to me and many other KI fanboys around the world.

The thriller instinct thing is weird, because the saying "he/she has that killer instinct" I have never heard thriller instinct.

I bet that was an alternate title kind of like how you can turn blood and fatalities off in mk.

Interesting that the promo vid never shows an Ultra Combo. I was waiting for it as a big finish.

Well, it does show a few that were scrapped like "ELITE" and "MEGA". That "NEW BREED" marketing in the video was the same that was on the flyer. I remember Meltdown from that video instead of Cinder. You can play the "Show no mercy" sound clip that was never used but supposedly was on the first machines (like the ones in the video). I think the "thriller instinct" thing was a joke, never an actual title but only a few know for sure.

I still think "Vampire" was the original name for Gargos in KI2. Who is this programmer they are referring to? The missing ending stories are interesting too. I wish actual programmers would speak up about what was intended and why it wasn't included - or partially included like the Kim Wu "spirit move" that looks like it was going to be like Jago's but doesn't do anything.

Oh well - fun to see stuff revealed about two of my favorite games.

I know I played KI at the arcades and heard "NO MERCY". Not sure about 'show', but I know I've heard No Mercy. The final version says Danger, Danger, right?

I know I played it and heard No Mercy. I know I did.
