I posted my upright Tempest on Fresno, CA Craigslist and received an e-mail from a guy in Monterey who says he's interested. We go back and forth on prices and other games and he then agrees on buying three games from me for $1,300. I e-mail him back with my phone number and ask when he's available to pick them up (under a three hour drive for him). He replies and says that he'll look at his schedule and let me know. This was yesterday. Then this morning he e-mails and simply says "Paul, I will be on the road tomorrow and will call." That's it. That's all he says. Well, I'm not available at all tomorrow and quickly e-mailed him back.

This makes me a bit nervous that he doesn't quite know the protocol for this type of transaction. He says he has only been collecting a while and then gave me a big list of games he's looking for. I don't even know if he's bringing cash, a truck, buddies to help him load etc. I don't even have his phone number to call. Suggestions? I don't want to lose this deal but I feel I need to set him straight.

Did you send him your physical address? If not I wouldn't worry.

Maybe he meant he will be away from his PC and email and will continue the negotiations/deal with a phone call while he is on the road. Not necessarily on the road to your place.
