I recently helped DJ DNS create some custom side art for his awesome Tac/Scan cabaret:

https://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=400308

After seeing posts from a couple folks who were wishing there was something like that for the regular Sega convert-a-game cabinet, DJ DNS and I have decided to look into creating a version of this side art for the full-sized cabinet. So if you'd be interested in Tac/Scan side art, please add your name to this thread. If there's enough interest we will go forward with it.

Regarding pricing, I have no idea at this point. Let's say it would be $150-175 per set just as a wild ballpark guess.

No pre-pay or commitment necessary here, just trying to gauge general interest in this project. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks!
Jim

Very nice. Interested in seeing the response to this (though I'd prefer the SEGA XY multi art). :)

If this ends up being a home run--or at least a stand-up double--I might look into designing a multi-Sega artwork also, although I'd probably try to do something with Space Fury first... that's a game that's just crying out for some great side art.

Multi-game artwork rarely looks good to me. I think finding a tasteful design would be a lot of work. But I'll think about it!

Not to get too much off topic, but I think this looks "good". :)
I'm sure alot of that art sold (over time; from one vendor or the next ...).
Anyway, REP'd ya for "thinkin' about it". LOL

Count me in! Also in for Space Fury art. If you're doing those, might as well just do Zektor too, while you're at it ;) Let me know if I can help you out at all on anything, Jim!

F@ck YES to this. Count me in for a set. Thank you kindly for starting the interest thread. ALL Tac/Scan owners NEED to buy this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a MUST!

or else!

P.S. that sample looks PERFECT already!

Yea , a CPO,marquee and side art for the SEGA XY multi game (to fit an Asteroids cabinet) :) would be great. I still have a blank Asteroids control panel for my multi SEGA but need to figure out the new button layout because the Star Trek control panel lets you play all the games but the Vector labs kit re maps the controls so Space Fury and Eliminator uses the spinner instead of buttons to rotate the ship but if you want to play a two player game of Eliminator you need to add 4 buttons for player two controls.
Here is something I put together just for button placement, not trying to design a CPO.

Are you interested in constructive criticism on the artwork?

As it stands, I wouldn't put that on my game.

Not even a little. This is not a thread to design artwork by committee, it is a thread to gauge interest in the design that was requested. I'll put you down for "not interested," then.

Bumping.......... really, that little interest???

Hey Jim, if there ends up being interest next to nothing, would you mind sharing the file (even if for a fee), so I can get it printed?

Hey all,

Sorry for the delay on this, real life intruded into arcade life for a while and this got put on the backburner. But I have decided to offer a limited run of Tac/Scan side art, and I put together a pretty cool Zektor side art design also! Please check out the presale thread below.

Thanks!
Jim
