So, Im toying with the idea of having these done and am in the process of getting quotes. From what Ive gotten back, the tooling is pricey, $3500-$4000 range and I would need to make 1000pcs. Price range will be $24-$28 a set(2). IS that too much? Who would buy in that price range? I could offer a small bulk rate in say over 10pcs, which would be the lower end of the estimate. Just talking out loud here as this is a large investment....

I think the price point is way too high to generate enough interest to make the project worthwhile.

Thats what Im affraid of. I think its just going to be something that cant be done due to the costs involved....

i've talked about this project with many klovers, and everyone is in agreement that 15 a pair is about the max anyone would pay. Honestly the only way to do it is have them made in china.

Getting original pieces replated might be a viable option too.

It is a good idea, not nearly as good of an idea as the Assault shafts, but ya know.

Not if they are all bent up or pitted badly......

Im still waiting for a drawing.... :)

I would think that there are so many of these things out there that new ones aren't really needed. Even the pitted ones can be re-plated easily, no?

Yes, but you will see all the pits. I get asked all the time to make these....

The price point I would pay is $8 a pair.

I know that is low, but I figured I would just be honest about it.

I would get a set for the asking price. Sometime you gotta pay up for a quality part...I've learned the hard way by being a cheap ass...lol

+1.

I would actually probably get 5 sets for the asking price. Not a rich man by any means, but as has been said "I like my shit nice"

Got the Asteroids panel by the way, thanks!

I would buy some if needed to support the project.
Are the originals nickel or chrome plated?
I'd like to see all the bits for the midway door reproduced. I would like to see the mech holders done more than anything.
