Interest in Granny & The Gators reproduction artwork?

I'm restoring a Granny & The Gators for a good friend and the artwork could stand to be replaced...specifically the control panel overlay and the side-art. The bezel is apparently a plexi reproduction that was done several years ago and it is awesome.

So, I'm curious about how many people out there have Granny & The Gators that need new artwork for it. I may try scanning the existing artwork and having a graphics person do work on it so it could be reproduced.

Post here if you're interested in reproduction artwork for G&G. If I can find someone to do the graphics work and then convince someone to print it, I may be willing to take this project on myself...provided we have enough interest.

Thanks,
Greg

If you do this one it will have to be for the love of the game cause there just aren't many of these out there to justify a large run...maybe a run of 10 pieces ...problem is that isn't something many printers will take on...

Your best bet may be solvent inkjet ...Talk to Rich at thisoldgame about the quality..in many instances the quality is way better than it once was with the newer printers and better inks...a much more affordable alternative to silkscreening which would be extremely costly to do for a small run lke this...

I don't even have the game and I'd take a set of whatever you had made just in the hopes I might come across one sometime to put next to my baby pac..

Take a look at the latest art that was done by another klover .....Pepper II...I actually lent my NOS set to Bill to do this run...it looks absolutely superb but its not silkscreened..its solvent inkjet done with higher quality inks and much better printer ...
I think this way to go if you find someone to do scan and vector/color match etc..

Exactly right, I would be undertaking this simply to save & restore whatever few Granny & The Gators machines are out there.

And I was certainly thinking solvent inkjet would be the way to go.

Great stuff. And a very HARD restoration! I restored mine (including the playfield )a few years ago. This is one that I kept in my current collection:

FYI, I'm also going to be working on getting the side-art repro'd, if possible. I'm going to try to scan it and get it sent off for cleanup and repro.

Are folks also interested in the button inserts and monitor bezel?

Were you able to get new sideart or did you paint around the original side art? Just curious because I would like to restore mine.

I'd be more than happy to take on the job of restoring this artwork.
I can also print up as many sets/individuals pieces as would be needed.
Are there pieces being scanned?

I have a few left from when I repro this for b_koenig. The colors are not exact but are pretty darn close. Also file is not perfect it is a touched up raster that I scaned from b_koenig CP 4 years ago. b_koenig is that the CPO I printed for you on your machine?

I'm slowly working on it. I have someone that is supposed to be sending in an NOS cpo to be scanned and potentially reproduced. When I'm able to move around better (just had surgery this past Monday and am kind of desk/couch bound at the moment), I'm going to scan the side-art and start the process of getting that ready.

Just wondering if you have had the chance to look into the reproduction artwork for Granny?

DarkKniyt, thanks for the offer. I've currently got someone that is also interested in working on the artwork. Do you do the graphics/vectorizing work?

I did pick up a repro cpo from billybob2236 as well. Right now I'm considering whether to use that on my restore or one of the reproductions that I'm hoping to be able to shepherd through the process. Just in case I can't get the reproduction process off the ground, I've got a pretty good option on the cpo from billybob2236.

Yep! billybob, thats the one I got from you. Looks great! I just got your SMB bezel and will be putting it on plastic Monday as well.

Just heard some great news for those looking for a granny and the gators cpo, I just heard ThisOldgame is reproducting a Granny and the Gators Cpo from an NOS cpo and it should hopefully be available sometime next month. Thought I would pass that on.
