Interest Check: Repro Midway Coin Doors?

I dunno if thats possible or not. Happ does not share info & not sure who else to ask. I could probably have the entire door made, but pricing is gonna be the issue. Who wants to pay $150-$200 for a coin door??

My shop can do everything on there but the coin insert that is alwasy rusty or bent. I figured the door itself would be easiest ands it almost alwasy bent, rusty or has extra holes in it.

Well, I'd pay it. Would need the coin inserts too though. Surprisingly, I sold a used one on ebay a while back to an overseas buyer for $125. It was decent but not perfect.

Might be interested in a couple if I cant get a bunch of used ones
powdercoated. Ideally with the chome coin inesrts through.. most
are bent on mine.

The Great Amusement Emporium is who I was thinking of for the coin chutes and perhaps other parts.

They used to manufacture their own Midway coin entry "trough" (under their "G.A.M.E." name) and was listed in their catalogs. It was actually a better quality part than the original Midway part. They had somebody make that part for them. It is the equivalent of Happ Controls part number 42-0069-00.

They only deal with actual game route operators/vending companies/game distributors/manufacturers. But I'm sure if you contacted them and said, "I'd like to buy 1000 of part number xxxxxx" I bet they'd be happy to do that.

The plates from AS are metal.
I'm sure any parts Happ had lying around are long gone. They throw stuff away frequently. I know a few dumpster divers over there. So, there's no way they sat on parts for 17 years. They would also need a huge order to run those again if they would even do them.

I'm just thinking of doing the doors, maybe 50 of them if the interest is there. I initially looked into the chrome coin slot piece. They say they can't do it. I'll have to investigate that a little more.

Yeah the plates arcadeshop makes are nice...you could use them if someone could find the right size rivets that were used for those doors..I think someone tried to match them a while back and had issues matching the exact size..

Having said that...to get a brand new door...powder coated..I could live with the adhesive backed plates just the same..the coin chutes are out there...just haven't found large stock on nos ones...and reproducing them shouldn't be that big of a deal for someone who does that stuff...the inner parts are easy to find off of donor doors..

So all the parts needed are out there or have been reproduced..

Sounds like a good thing to me if Troy could do the door.

I'd certainly be in for around 5-10 easy.

$65-$75 definitely seems like a good deal compared to having to strip, hammer out the dings, sand blast, and then powder coat a used door, before having it shipped back if mailed out.

I wonder if you get two or just one chute...looks like just one...but maybe need to contact them to see if these can be purchased in bulk perhaps..

If you add it to card it has quantities at zero for all four happ locations and availability not till Jan. 2012..so I wonder if this means they would still produce or they are expecting more...

Can someone say bulk order...

These also have an additional hole for the "start button" between the two slots.

I can have that added to the run no problem, but there will be a hole there unless I have the plugs made too. I guess, how many people want a grey door with that hole there?
