Just throwing this out there to see if there is any interest for this.....
Trying to think of some ways to help cover recent hospital bills.....I recently made a couple of MARIO themed LEGO figures for my son. My son Mikey, picked out his favorite pose of Mario, I hopped online and found the "sprite", mapped everything out, then we headed to the LEGO store and picked out the majority of the pieces from what they had, and for some of the pieces I had to "improvise" as the store did not have all the correct sizes I needed, so even thought the online store is a little more expensive, everything will be correct.
Please keep in mind that LEGOS, are not cheap, and I am only marking up the price by a few dollars per figure (right now, a few bucks here and there really does add up and helps A LOT). I have calculated the base cost of each figure (right now I am keeping it very simple- offering Mario Luigi, and a Mushroom, but later, may do other characters) and the approximate cost of postage and packing supplies, plus a very minimal amount for my time. Right now, I a looking at the following prices (GIFTED via paypal would be awesome):
Mario or Luigi: $26
Mushroom: $19
Mario and Luigi: $45
Mario/Luigi and a Mushroom: $40
Mario, Luigi, and a Mushroom: $60
Just added:
Goomba $26 or $22 shipped with any other figure
(see the pic on page 2 of this thread :http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?p=2094601#post2094601)
Mario and Luigi are approx 5.5in x 6in, and the Mushroom is approx 5in wide x 6in tall
What you would get for the above prices: all the LEGOS to make the figure, a detailed instruction sheet on "how to" build the figure, a lego stand for each figure, prices include postage with delivery confirmation.
These would make great arcade cabinet toppers (fit perfect on a red tent), an awesome gift for the kid that happens to lover Mario and legos, the list goes on and on............
If I get enough people interested, I will collect payments upfront via paypal, then I will place an order for all the legos from their online store, and the day that I get them, I will pack everything up and mail the packages out by the next day. I plan to have a very quick turnaround time.
I know it's a cheesy idea, but it was a fun project that put a huge smile on my kids face, and all my wife's preschooler's think that its the coolest thing that the characters from the video game are sitting on top of the Red Tent, so please, if you think this is a cool idea, please let me know, tell your friends and family, bump the hell out of it
But if you think it's a stupid idea, you have the right to your own opinion, just please don't post anything negative in this thread, in no way am I trying to ask for donations or pan handle- my family and I just went thru a horrible experience now we have a HUGE financial burden to deal with on top of the loss of a child, so I am just trying to find something to help keep my mind off things for a while and help get some bills caught up.
